Well Sky just certified under ALPA... so it would be a rather easy merger I suppose.

Chorus/Ggn/Sky merge

Is Chorus buying sky regional and ggn and merging it all under one Air Canada Express company?

What is the likelihood of this with Sky being moments away from certification, and then, what would a merger look like among all three ?

Re: GGN ALPA and CUPE NEGOTIATION HELL

I wish you guys the best boys and girls. Make sure you stand together on strike mandates so that you give your negotiating committee a powerful stance. No body here is going to lose their jobs. And if you do, the industry is booming. Look at it as a paid vacation, as ALPA fights them in court, gets ...

Re: Sky Regional Direct Entry Captain Posting - What a Joke

Keep in mind here DEC applicants. For every 2months reserve, 1 month block rotation you will be doing until you're off standby, there will be FO's upgrading and keeping you in your current slot percentage wise. I would imagine this will not be a get-jet-pic-quick scheme for any DEC. And if we are ta...

Re: Sky Regional Direct Entry Captain Posting - What a Joke

Be aware... sky regional will be moving over to a pure seniority based system in the new year. If you came in as DEC today you'd be joining behind 100+ captains and 130 odd some FO's ahead who will be upgrading and keeping you in your current standing, seniority wise. I would imagine this would affe...

Is it me, or did the Sky Regional FO ads not used to have a 1500 hour minimum requirement for First Officers? Looks like it is not there anymore.

Re: Jazz or CargoJet?

Yes those complaints were from 727 Second Officers or First Officers. I don't think there are any 767/757 First Officer's that came to Sky Regional, you're right. Thanks for clarifying that. Sounds not too bad on the 767/757 side of things.

Re: Jazz or CargoJet?

Per diems is not salary. Just in case someone thought that’s why I was asking. Just seemed like 20k in per diems was a hefty amount. Lots of cargojet Guys hired at sky regional in the last 12 months. They seem to not have liked it so much. Sounds like the flying gig could have been great if it weren...

What is a realistic year to date for your per diems? I as well thought that 15-20k made sense.

Thanks!

Re: Jazz or CargoJet?

With the new CBA just ratified, Pilots will bid 16 days a month. You now bid your stats in a 5 day block and a 4 day block, after 1 year you are alloted 3 weeks vacation, 4 after 10, 5 after 20. So you can deduct these of some of your months. This has been and will continue to be a contencious issu...

The E190 and Sky Regional discussion

All of the new hires at Sky Regional are being told that there’s a big announcement coming this fall, and many are speculating it’s the E190. I always thought ACPA had a hard rule in the scope clause for 76 PAX, and that this would never happen. What’s the word like at AC? Can someone shed some light?

I went through the AC medical recently. Here's exactly the order of things that went down. 1. Show up to medical office with aviation license. They took a photocopy of it. 2. Fill out questionnaire about medical history. A lot of questions regarding sound exposure and whether your present job has yo...

Sky Regional is 11 GDO's. Realistically work around 14-16 days a month as we get grey days to offset our schedule to prevent scheduled Over Time.

What is the liability for AC regarding Express New Hires? Footing the bill for replacement at express, and paying for the training at mainline. What ...

Sorry DropTanks. Sky Regional is still rejecting pilots with lots of good time. I think they still have plenty of applications to be this selective. Will the tide shift? I would imagine yes. But they're sticking to their 1500 hour requirement, not dropping it, and some high time guys/gals are gettin...
