Re: How to get rid of ACPA?

So the AC pilots went from the TS acquisition isn’t happening to seeing the writing on the wall if they sign this MOA the TS acquisition being a real threat? Interesting. Here’s the other thing, you guys don’t sign this MOA and the merged recall list could mean a laid off transat pilot placed in fro...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

Not in the slightest. But it also wouldn't surprise me during unprecedented times. The last thing anyone needs right now is division. It s gray only for you already the airline say it loud it is seniority recall possible that the recall happen together so the full ppc will fly later and the Already...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

You’re right that’s what I heard too. From a company perspective it would be more efficient and economic to issue a schedule to the A321 pilots since no pilot is actually laid off. Someone from the union told me that there is no way it will happen, return to active status will be by seniority (and ...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

You don’t wish AT to go under because it will affect your future. Even though you can now expect major concessions; imagine your future negociations if AC is the only one playing around. There is a rumor that AT is going to recall about 200 pilots next month, unfortunately there is absolutely no co...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

The European Commission said the companies had declined to offer concessions to address its concerns during its preliminary review of the deal. It set a Sept. 30 deadline for its decision. So Transat felt they were better off to stay competitors rather than give in to EU's concessions. Pretty telli...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

Interesting times ahead. Won't be the first time tax payer money was spent for shareholders, won't be the last. I guess the government could come back and say "what's your concern, I paid you 2k/month in CERB's, CEWS, etc, and this is the best outcome to preserve as many jobs as possible for Canada/...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

Where does it say that it's for the A220's? “Le prêt est garanti par les quatre avions Airbus A220 récemment acquis par Air Canada et 14 autres que l’entreprise doit recevoir d’ici la fin de l’année. Les fonds peuvent être utilisés « aux fins générales de l’entreprise », a indiqué Air Canada.” Than...

Hope Transat will get the same: 788 millions loan from EDC to Air Canada https://www.tvanouvelles.ca/2020/05/12/le-federal-vole-a-la-rescousse-dair-canada-1 That is an EDC sourced loan that is collateralized against the A220’s. It is not an LEEFF loan. Does TRZ own any of the fleet? Where does it s...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

Guys, Why do we become competitors as pilots? Just cause we wear a different colored hat or uniform? I am actually curious where this notion comes from that pilots are competing against one and another. When in actuality, we are all the cut of the same cloth, doing what we love, trying to provide fo...

I agree with FL320. 99% of transat guys are your chill, happy to get whatever concessions possible type people. If the likes of fl280 can show some class, you’d find that most transat guys are the same dudes that welcome you with open arms as they do when you jumpseat with them, and make sure that n...

Re: When do you think flying will be back to february 2020 level

I think one thing a lot of people have to remember is this. The majority of people that fly on planes for leisure, live for next month. It’s why all of them need to be bailed out when they lose their jobs. No one actually has savings. And anything remotely attached to entertainment is 99% on the cre...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

AC postponed their equipment bid until after Garneau's decision on the deal. That doesn't sound like a company that's sure it's going to go through with things as planned. Or it’s a company that foresees a merged list shortly and doesn’t want to commit Ac pilots to positions it doesn’t need filled?...

Re: In need of a 9/11 history lesson

Some excellent advice in here. Hi Kag I was one of those that was laid off after 911. It actually didn't happen until about the summer of 2003. After 911 there was one course in 2002 at AC. I think my course was off for 15 months from memory - not great. I did odd jobs while my girlfriend worked in ...

This thread is pure gold. I didn’t know how easily triggered the nations superior pilots can be.

FL320, did you mean anything by FL280 being a good fo?

Altiplano, why did FL320’s comment upset you?

FL280, make me a coffee please. Lol
