Re: ever seen a UFO?
A few months back we were flying West just South of Manitoba. Nice clear night. Generally when we're up at FL430 there is not much higher than us other than the odd Gulfstream or something. We look up to see a dim orange to red glow, moving North across the sky. At first we figured it was a satellit...

Where to send Licence renewal
I can't seem to find a definitive answer on the TC site, but I'm assuming to renew the Licence booklet I send it to my regional office. For YYC it would be in YWG?
Thanks

Re: Beech 200 Approach Flap landings
Flightsafety says the US Military produced numbers for flap approach landings, perhaps there is a US Military flying forum you may be able to get them from?

Abbotsford is always great! Although a little less so since all the US cutbacks. Not sure if that's back to normal this year?

Aerocourse ATPL and Taxes
Hi all, I did the Aerocourse ATPL seminar this year and I'm wondering about how to use this as a write off in my taxes. I didn't get any sort of official tax receipt from them, just the purchase receipt for the course and books. Anyone good with taxes and know how to claim the expense? And if it is ...

Are those aftermarket? They look different to the winglets on the "new" sovereign.

Re: Converting from UK (EASA) licenses to TC
Maybe think about holding off on your training until you get to Canada, and work a good job for the next couple of years. Your money will go a lot further in Canada. This comes from someone who has dealt with the cost of a JAA licence.
Good luck

Re: Very kool colour scheme on this new Falcon 7X N771RS
Agreed, stunning paint job. Its nice to see an owner who can think beyond the white fuselage with some stripes motif. And as for the bad wx comment, how about the thousands of white airplanes flying around against a backdrop of white clouds and white snow... I think I'd spot this plane quicker on mo...

Re: NOTAM for CYYC starting June 4, 2012 must have reservati
I believe the reservation website has times bookable from 1500 to 2100 so that must be considered peak. Question....does the "Peak Hours" part of this notam mean that there are peak hours published somewhere, which specifies when the new reservation system applies, or is it a 24 hr thing...?? Is thi...

Re: EASA ATPL Licence conversion / harmonization
I converted my JAA a couple years back. There is no conversion per say, you just have to treat it like you are a canadian student, however, all your hour requirements will be complete. Write the CPL written, then do the flight test with a TC examiner. They'll want to see your log book as well to che...

Actually there is the bag run at Sunwest, so no contrails requirements for that, you'll get a lot more than 300/year flying the Ho's.

Re: Logging Instrument time real world
Thanks for all the help guys, seems I've opened a can of worms. I'm not sure if I feel better now or am more confused  But I see what you're all saying. I think I'll give my local inspector a ring just to see what they say since that's where I'll be handing in my logbook for my ATPL. Oates
