Flight time is paid at normal duty rates.

Re: Making a great Salary now, should I move?

Not sure why you think the travel benefits are false. All new hires will go behind every existing employee group. Future "managers" will all go ahead of new hires, regardless of seniority, based on a higher priority. The year 1 "calculation" is fact for LCC767/319CA. It is taken directly from compa...

Re: Request from a Recip pilot

I have an idea for you. How about you stop complaining about access to free airline tickets. Better yet why don't you just pay full fare and you will be able to book right online as you would like. AC passes are a privilege, perhaps you should be grateful to have them. Maybe instead of asking AC to...

Re: CARGO ATTENDANT TO F.O POSITION

I know of two AC pilots who were AC FAs first. They quit their positions to pursue flight training and are now at the pointy end of the plane. Yycflyguy is right....actually at last count I know for sure there are 6 at least. I am one of them. I am friends with another that worked the ramp in Yyc a...

Re: AC Starting Salary

Thanks for the response YYCFlyGuy. I've been looking at the cost of moving from YYC to YYZ and it's not cheap! Anywhere from 3000 to 5000! I was hoping that AC would help with the cost of moving for new hires, but looks like no such luck. Just a thought. If you know a pilot with AC that you are goo...

The guy that did mine was i believe with emirates...Canadian guy though did the interview from gatwick...really good commentary and constructive criticism. There are ones from AC though. I don't think it really matters though.

Re: Pilot Career Centre Prep - Air Canada

I am a new hire. Start the 6th of feb. PCC prep was very thorough and prepared me extremely well for the interview. I will say you must practice for the interview and rehearse your stories for the panel so that they hit the major points they are looking for. As for the psych eval not much to prepare...

Re: CMA to end Air Canada CPA flying

I would enjoy watching some new guy from Georgian shooting the approach into Cranbrook for the first time on min fuel and bad weather. What a joke this is going to be. I hope Westjet will run them into the ground with there new regional network coming. Yeah should be interesting considering 4 of th...

Re: Has anyone got the call??

I'll make it as simple as i can...."there is no WDO conspiracy to keep us from hiring" The 3rd WDO was simply given to the company so we could get other things in our contract. This is a lifestyle company, and although there will always be a contingent of pilots who work overtime via the WDO list, ...

More money.....? Aren't they already some of the highest dash 8 pilots in the world? I worked at Jazz and know the pay scale and other than the first years starting salary it all seems quite fair to me. Does this mean that you (mgmt) are going to capitulate when it comes to the argument that yes f/...

Hey Gang ...Former F/A here w/ AC now fly in YYC as a pilot Capt Be 200. Wonder if, seeing as Jetz is a separate entity, why don't they apply for a 604 operating certificate and do the fractional thing but on a year to year basis. Having flown for Canada's largest Fractional Operation this might be ...

Re: Hiring Freeze at WJA?

Wasn't this thread about hiring? Maybe a little reality check as to why we are where we are. Both sides I mean. AC. under the helm of Mr. Brewer, since the start of the slow down, deliberately under supplied seats in an effort to drive yield up. This is a common yield management technique although ...
