Re: Open letter to the Federal Revenue Minister

I would even go so far as to say that, aside from income tax, we put more money into the local economy than a local Canadian pilot would. We tend to treat it as a paid holiday, so we eat out, rent cars , go travelling, go skiing, watch hockey, stay in hotels, buy domestic flights, buy souvenirs and...

Re: AC or AT?

When on reserve at TSC you are guaranteed 12 days off a month. When holding a block it is 11 days off a month. That being said you can expect to have a few more than that depending on machine and season. Under current contract you can only do one month of reserve then a month of flying so no spendin...

Bebe I figured it was for jumpseating...... As to jumpseating in uniform I can understand being in uniform to go from YWG to YYZ to start your pairing right away. No reason to be in uniform to go from DEN to LAX on personal travel. Every airline allows jumps eaters to be in uniform or business casua...

Re: Air Transat to bring in Foreign Pilots next winter.

Sucks when people lie and make up ridiculous stories and claims about the company you work for. I would imagine all the responses are from Transat employees and look how upset you are that I would post that crap. You just took a few steps in SW employees shoes. 90% of the stuff your hero Gilles pos...

Re: Sunwing is hiring seasonal pilots

In a nut shell: Canadian pilots are laid off and Temporary Foreign Workers are hired not because of any genuine shortage of skilled labor in Canada but to maximize Sunwing PROFITS. At the expense of Canadian pilots and of Canadian taxpayers of course. What part of this is so hard for you to underst...

Rogerdodger2,

That sounds like a threat, is it?

If it is, well pretty cowardly to threaten someone anonymously. I suggest you retract the post.

3 holer,

I cannot speak for WestJet or Sunwing, I can however speak for Air Transat, in the years I have been there I have flown a number of recognizable faces to both the south and to Europe.

Even stood in line at the YUL Burger King with a General/Senator once and chatted.....

Hey Gilles, I do work for CanJet. Re: Sunwing/Canjet fleet and foreign pilots winter 2012-2013

All this nonsense 'coz a few French Transat weenies got laid off. Tough. The foreigners are just doing what Candians do all over the world, and good luck to them. Wallflower, I just had a look at our seniority list and even more specifically the pilots on lay-off. I did not see any French pilots on...

all of the elements are confirmed. transat goes with the in house narrowbodies, canjet pulls back and does adhoc work with a few planes. Not so fast. I am sure you will enjoy the service, if you want a really nice ride, see about purchasing the upgrade to Club Transat.

More than likely you will even change your handle to "Transat738" after your flight with us!!!!

I flew TSD yesterday and she still has the older interior, PTS has not gone through refurb yet either.

That being said the aircraft assigned to your flight could be changed so you may end up surprised and get a flight in one of the new cabins. Either way you will have a nice ride. Enjoy your trip.

5 core aircraft
