Re: The End of the WPDL Confirmed
It didn't make any sense to fire the Swoop pilots. Not from a company perspective or ethically from a pilot perspective. It wasn't the right thing to do. I'll drink a 26er for you.

Reminder to all the pot smoking pilots I know that you asked for this when you wished for legalization. Party's over now.

Re: WestJet almost puts one in the drink
"the crew cycled the flight directors, in accordance with WestJet's approach procedures for landing at TNCM"
Does this mean turn the FD's off then on again? Is this a common practice for the 737? Why would they do this?

Re: what we've all been waiting for
There's nothing cool about an F-35. Even the F-18 (which I've heard they're using) is significantly less interesting than the F-14 which was the star of the first movie. Hopefully the enemy airplanes are something special.

Re: WestJet pilots to fly Swoop aircraft
Are you saying this is what you want to happen or this is what has already been negotiated? I only ask because they just put out a new job ad for OTS Swoop pilots.

Re: Disability Benefits For Pilots Over Age 60
If they wanted to work past 60 why wouldn't they make sure the contract provides disability benefits for that age range? Especially when they didn't have the financial means to make ends meet if they had a health problem. 60-65 would be the most likely time that you are going to experience health is...

It is lack of pilots not lack of business that is the issue for them. Jazz pilots now being offered 1 year leave of absence to go fly for Voyageur.

I've heard the last class before summer break was over 90% Express pilots. Not sure if that reflects their new hiring process.

Management is just one of your concerns. What about the T4 queens that are just going to smile and nod while you throw nasty words like scab and blacklist around. How are you going to get them to strike? They didn't sign up for any of this.

Re: Gander PC-12 nose gear up landing (2017?)
Self explanatory for which scenario? If you lower the nose slowly it will be grinding along the runway for a longer time. If you let it drop suddenly at the end there is a large impact force.

Would you guys hold the nose up as long as possible until the lowest possible speed and let it drop suddenly or slowly lower it while you still have some elevator authority?

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
The April courses were only planned to be 30 persons. So if they upped them to 40 that doesn't bode well for there being a May 14th course.
