Re: How is GGN these days?

Meh my Jazz flight was 30 minutes late and I missed my mainline connection and it was still showing as on-time. Everybody does it not just Georgian.

It kind of sounds like people that got rejected by AC and had no other paths to take.

Re: Pasco Callbacks

I did their interview. It took me the better part of a year to get it through repeated phone calls, emails, and one inside contact who sent a text on my behalf. Lots of persistence as they seem totally unsure of what's going on. I never talked to the same HR/ pilot person twice, but everybody was n...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

It seems the new Express hiring portal is really fast tracking Express pilots into Mainline now. I wonder if the glory days of OTS are now somewhat behind us. It will be interesting to see breakdown of Express vs OTS in the next few courses.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Applying at Express shows interest in joining the Air Canada family and willingness to start at the bottom to get there. Maybe that gets you points. Could be they share the same database of applicants. I applied at Jazz the same time I applied at AC. I thought it was weird that Jazz never responded ...

Re: Did we reach the next phase of the pilot shortage?

Modern flight instruction isn't about teaching students how to fly it's about teaching them how to pass their flight test. Who's better to do that than someone who recently passed theirs?

Why is it bad info? What would happen if Type 1 touches a hot exhaust?

I still don't understand how they hit very flat terrain though. The weather was VFR. There was massive confusion over the runway but how did they fly into the ground. Just stalled while maneuvering at low altitude?

Norwegian Air plans to fly between Canada and Europe this summer. I wonder if the 787's will have to get Swooped in order to compete with their prices.

It's sometimes not a friend but the owner of the company and the one paying for the gas. Who's going to say that was ok but you failed an exercise let's spend thousands of dollars to do it again tomorrow.

The size of the jet also matters. There are military guys coming from fighter jets or the Snowbirds that are considered to have "zero" jet time. Not all of their sims are Level D so unless they want to go do circuits with you (they don't) you need to have jet time above a certain weight to crew thos...
