Re: RCAF reserve as a second job
A grand total of 9 pilots have rejoined the RCAF. 5 reservists and 4 as reg force. Either it's the admin/recruiting that's a problem (that's my guess) and more are in the pipeline or no-one wants a 100K+ job in these times or it's something else. For those considering it, perhaps give someone who h...

Re: RCAF reserve as a second job
Does anyone know if the RCAF is currently hiring new regular force pilots? I am seriously considering leaving commercial aviation and would love the stability of a RCAF job. I have applied a few months ago but have heard nothing yet. Their focus is on re-enrolling pilots. A first time application c...

Re: How long does it take for TC to process a medical renewal?
I think its dependant on the region. I did my medical renewal in Oct in the ON region. I have the stamp, but still no update on the website. I called them and they said that they're 6 months backlogged....... You're correct, once the medical is processed, you'll receive instructions in the mail for ...

Re: OTS WesJet Mainline FO
Good morning folks, I’ve recently been pooled and am super excited about it. I have a couple questions for those of you that commute: -Currently, how long of a wait is it to hold a YYC base? I’ve read the threads and consensus is about 2-3 years. If approved, would a shared seniority list with WJE a...

Re: Hiring outlook
MrTurbine, If one were to arrive on the property today for a mainline YYZ position, how long roughly would it take to get to YYC? Any insight is helpful. Thanks, The lowest seniority YYC 737 FO is an early 2017 hire. It's very tough to predict how long a new mainline hire could expect to be waiting...

Re: Hiring outlook
Lots of growth for YVR planned at AC this year. With your time, look into it. Or mainline WJ. You’ll wait a few years before you can hold YVR base because you’ll be at BOTL. Good luck. Lol. A few years. AC will have you YVR within a year. WJ would be easily upwards of a decade. Lol. Honestly tho, 6...

Re: Transport Canada mailing time
I received mine pretty much exactly a week after they were printed... I'd say that you'll have them early next week. Mine arrived right before expiring too!

Re: Base Assignments
Thanks Gear Jerker. I have a few follow-on questions....
-How long typically does it take to upgrade to CA?
-Do you know how long folks are currently spending with WJE before moving onto the mainline? I've seen anything from 2.5-5 years on this forum.
Cheers!

Base Assignments
For the folks who have recently joined WJE, what are the base assignments like (YYC vs YYZ)?
If you were to be assigned YYZ, how long would it take to get YYC?
Thanks in advance,
ZZ
