Switching doctors/reminders

Hi, if I would like to switch CAMEs for my Aviation Medical would I need to ask my current CAME first and get him/her to send all previous info over to the new CAME? Or can I just go to the new one and they can gain access to all my previous renewals info through an online system? Also, a little unr...

Hi, I just recently did my CPL Flight Test, I have not done the written yet as there is currently the exemption that allows you to do the flight test before the written. NCR-022-2021- examiners conducting flight tests for the issuance of Commercial Pilot Licences - Aeroplane or Helicopter, allow exa...

CYTS (Timmins) FBO

Hello, I want to fly down to CYTS - Timmins to build some XC time. The CFS shows "Air Creebec" as the only FBO and it also asks all non-scheduled flights to park at the North Ramp, which isn't near Air Creebec. Anybody that has been into CYTS know where I should go to get my log book stamped? I just...

Pearson Flyover

Hi all,

Wanted to do a Pearson flyover in a 172 with a buddy sometime next week. For those of you that have done a flyover recently, what seems to be the best time do so and to not get denied due to busy airspace? I'm thinking of going down on a weekday.

Thanks!

Re: TC Office Exam Wait Times

With the back log in exams, do you guys anticipate they will extend the current exemption for doing the CPL Flight Test before the Written? "NCR-128-2020" for reference.

Written Exam Temporary Exemption

Hi, Anybody know the current situation with TC Offices and the written exams? I heard they’re backlogged , but I’m not sure how this new stay at home order is affecting them. Are they closed again like they were at the beginning of the pandemic? I've tried calling but they never pick up. I'm in Onta...

Are degrees important now?

For someone that’s wrapped up flight training, or about to wrap it up with a Diploma from one of the Aviation Colleges recognized by the Jazz Pathway Program, would a degree now be important to have for when the industry and hiring opens back up? I know people were getting hired with just the Aviati...

TC Letters

How many of you have had TC come after you with the dreadful letter asking for blood tests, etc. during random times? I did my Cat 1 Medical and my blood pressure came out to 134/80 after the first reading and I honestly knew that was going to happen because my first reading is always high. They re ...

Overweight pilots

Question out of curiosity, Blood Pressure is one of the most common (and even most dangerous) likely characteristics of someone who is Overweight or Obese. Now, throughout my years of travelling, I have seen MANY clearly overweight pilots at many Canadian Airlines. Hell, I've been on board and some ...

Hi all, I just saw a Reddit post of someone asking for any info regarding COVID and losing your medical (temporarily or permanently). The post didn’t have many replies so I decided to post it here since I was generally curious anyway and I know AvCanada would probably have more info. Apparently peop...

Medical over the phone?

Hey all, I just called in to get my medical re-booked since it expires on January 1st. The front desk lady told me I could renew it over the phone...to which I replied with obvious confusion. She said that's how it works with Cat 1 renewals, and that the doc could call me if I had anymore questions ...

Hi all, Going to start hard core daily studying for CPAER soon so I can hopefully write by the end of the year, or early next year. Anybody fly over Pearson or been able to get a low approach over one of their runways in the past few months? Heard of a few people being allowed to do that. Hi all, As a pilot and in terms of keeping that Cat 1 Medical, how many of you at the airline level drink alcohol once in a while? Has it affected your medical results before? Hi all, Just had a quick question on being current with TC. A little bit of backstory, I have my PPL that I obtained back in August of 2018 while still in high school and currently have about 160 TT. I am part of a flight college right now where I'm doing my night rating before moving onto all the o...

Cat 1 Medical - Blood Pressure

Good afternoon, I had my BP taken as part of the vision, height/weight, etc. check before the actual aviation part of my Cat 1 medical yesterday. Now that I've started pursuing my CPL I know how important having a Cat 1 medical is. The machine for my blood pressure read 150 which is when the assista...

I got my Cat 1 Medical done around January 25th, 2019. I believe that means it expires Feb 1st of next year. I also automatically had my Cat 3 medical renewed by the examiner when I did my Cat 1. Hey all,

What are some of the best resources/study tactics for the CPL Written Exam? I have searched this site but am preferably looking for more recent info and from people that recently wrote the exam. What about for the INRAT exam as well?

Thanks.
