Re: Take the vaccine, or lose your job - WTF?

Thanks for the video. Looks like we have been unsuccessful to eradicate influenza, curious why anyone would think we can eradicate covid. The video seems to suggest at the end that we need to vaccinate our way to no more variants. Highly doubt that’s an option. I just don’t want anyone going into m...

Re: Take the vaccine, or lose your job - WTF?

Could you please provide the source of your information because I cant find any. Here's the simple death/cases fatality rate and it's around 1.8% in Canada. Sure, I can do that. First I would like to point out in your argument you used CFR for Covid, and IFR for the Flu. The IFR for covid can be fo...

Re: Take the vaccine, or lose your job - WTF?

CDC says the IFR is estimated to be 0.5 percent. This is the average for all ages and with no vaccine. With a vaccine I would guess it’s even better than a 99.7 survival rate. The unvaccinated population is under 12. Their risk of fatality is next to nothing. If 70 percent of the 1.4 million kids i...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???

Not allowed to strike? Anybody is allowed to strike. They just need enough collective unity to say F#@K you to whoever is trying to mandate them back to work. Its called courage, pride, UNITY. Work to rule. Remember we are the ones that ultimately release the park brake and get things moving. Witho...

Re: Cargo TA

So don't compare our wages against FedEx or UPS because they are logistics companies and we are an airline?? What kind of logic is that?! It's the same profession isn't it??

Re: Cargo TA

They cut 10% because those cargo pilots will be doing a lot of night rate flying and the company is trying to balance that out. Night rates are higher for reasons and the company failing to acknowledge that is simply unethical and it's another proof of we are just names and numbers to them. The comp...

Re: COVID MOA 2

To add insult, the 250 hr Jazz kid is sitting in his Moms basement playing video games, collecting CEWS and full benefits. INCLUDING pass travel. While the AC Pilot is delivering pizzas for Skip the Dishes. What is important to note, Jazz would not be participating if there had not been an agreemen...

Re: RCAF reserve as a second job

Sounds good.. nobody ever lost anything from trying! If you don’t mind, let us know how things go. Best of luck in these trying times ! :) Got pretty much the same reply. No advantage applying as an airline pilot. I honestly am confused and disappointed since their gov website really gave me an imp...

Re: RCAF reserve as a second job

Hello, Thank you all for your reply. The impression i got from going through the gov website was that they encourage us civilian pilots to do this and willing to work with our schedule so it was surprising to hear many of your replies. I really am glad and appreciate to hear all of the honest answer...

RCAF reserve as a second job

Hi, I work for an airline here in Canada on a WB jet. I get about 17 to 18 days off and I've been looking for ways to make them more meaningful. And I have to be honest, this COVID-19 crisis is making me think I really should have a good back up plan. Quick search online suggested joining the RCAF a...

Well, I stand corrected. Haha.
I don't know about him but I don't think I've received a memo about it being open, nor see a box on my standing bid :?
