Re: Back to Back Battery Starts PT6

I fly 4 king airs(200), they all act a little differently. We also operate in cold Canada. We have Tannis installed, which is great. We tent. I'm a big fan of this because when you are away from base, you need to take care of your a/c. I will do everything in my power to make certain that we get hom...

Re: Alot of plane crashes?

I've heard of these Cadet programs. If these Airlines want to spend money on these programs, that's up to them. Why not tap into the Canadian Pilot pool? In one year of flying here you can almost see every flying condition possible. It's funny, when you are doing your flight training, they pump you ...

Alot of plane crashes?

Has anyone noticed that there has been alot of crashes as of late? When I started my career about five years ago it wasn't uncommon to have a Navajo Captain with anywhere 2000 - 3000 + hours. Or even a King Air 100 Captain with 5000 hours. In the past few years the major carriers have had some retir...

ATPL Application

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use your dual time towards your total time 1500 hours? If so, any limits? ie. 50% or minimums for the license or 5 hours per PPC.

Thanks,

Re: Gear up landings - why not try the grass?

This is a good question. Some peoples thinking behind this idea is that if you land on turf you don't know what is there for certain eg. drainage systems, ect. As for landing on the runway, you know that it's level and clear. In the event that you needed to have a fire put out, the fire trucks would...

Training Bond Tax Deductible?

I had to pay off a training bond to leave a company, does anyone know if you can write it off? The only thing that I can think of is the T777 form under other costs?

Writing exams in YXE

Does anyone know what the deal is for writing TC exams in YXE now? Can you still do it? Do you have to make an appointment? Who do you call? I'm looking to write my ATPLs.

IFR Recurency

I have a friend that is from another country. He came to canada to do his Can. Comm. Pilot Lic. with multi IFR. He went back home and started to work. He hasn't been back in 4 years and has only been flying VFR. What does he have to do to become current with his IFR? If he wrote his exams for his Ca...

Why do you think that it's so hard to get started here in Canada? Supply/Demand? I'm born and raised in Canada but would seriously consider moving to Euope for those types of flying oppertunities. One of the reasons that I started flying was to "work my way up" I think that there is ample time in a ...

In my company we fly Navajos into shorter strips. On a longer paved strip we use a Vref of 100 and on the shorter gravel strips we use a Vref 95. I find that by using a Vref of 100 you use a lot more runway. The 5 extra knots alow you to float down the runway. Flying in Canada floating down the runw...

B-19000

I think that is the greatest thing that I have ever witnessed. They should rename the 1900 the 19000, because it's that good.

The 19000 is one of the greatest aircraft ever built! I know from experience.

I think that we should all move to Africa and fly with said "crazy pilot".

I think that you should be alright. If it's company policy then leave it at that.

What it comes down to is are you trainned? Do you have the proper equipement to measure the RFI...... No. Then you're Ok.
