Re: Pilots with second jobs

I started working as a casual in the transportation industry 15 years ago. It wasn't going very well, so I went to flight school. Now I fly as my 2nd job, because there are very few aviation jobs that would pay me as well as that one does now. Never burn bridges!!

Re: Flight attendants with Air North to unionize

Unions are not always going after pay all the time. In fact, in most cases Unions are asking for Cost Of Living increases only (COLa Clauses). Employees are looking a higher standard of living. This includes Medical / Dental benefits, safe working environment, pension or some sort of retirement plan...

Re: Skycast lands first airline for in-flight entertainment

The reason for the tablet is due Bell and no one else. In May they launched and switched to the Nimiq 6 Satellite. With the older satellite, the beam was spread all across North America. Now the beam is only over Canada. Since WJ flys mostly to the USA in the winter season, the aircraft get no tv. T...

Looking For Map Of Europe For Lowrance AirMap 500

Hello.

Going to visit Europe, and was hoping I could grab a copy of a map for my Lowrance 500 AirMap GPS. We need the maps so we can do some Geocaching.

Thanks

Manuals, Books, & Charts in PDF, Mobi, or EPub ebook formats

I did a search and couldn't find much on the topic. Playing around on a tablet, I got to thinking about having books like "From The Ground Up" or "Aware" to use a quick ref. Maybe the local VTA, or VNC?

Anyone know if these or other books / map / charts / ect are available?

Re: denial of raic pass

Denial also comes from knowing or hanging out with questionable people. For example, I've seen someone have their pass taken away after they got it. She lent her car to her father. Daddy parked close to a certain bikers club house while visiting friends. The car got flagged. She losses pass for bein...

Best Place To Have Custom Mahogany Models Made

Hello all, I gave this crazy idea of wanting custom mahogany models made of aircraft that I have flown. Has anyone had these made? I've found two companies in the YVR area that make them. Airgo Models, and Alm Custom Carvings. On their websites, they are asking about $300 USD each. Someone mentioned...

Re: Looking to buy portable GPS, any suggestions?

I too have the 600c. When I got it, I also was given the Canadaian maps, and the USA maps. Awesome little unit for flying. I keep all the flight info on the card they provide ( its a small card, and you cannot transfer the terrain warning to another card which sucks ass). I put some road maps onto a...

love ours, no problems. I had it hooked up in Alberta, moved to BC and carried the feed with me. When I buy the hockey package, they still think I live in AB, so I get all the Vancouver Pay per views included. I would have to shell out for the AB pay per views but who cares. You can also have up to ...
