Re: Open the door, no thanks

I don’t know, maybe read a newspaper or something. I read a number of papers. HuffPo and CBC are usually the worst written of them. Not sure about the Huffington Post but the CBC does not publish a newspaper, so I’ll just surmise you’re full of shit. The “B” stands for broadcasting...look it up in ...

Re: Travel restrictions in EU vs Canada

Why not just set up mandatory quick testing on arrival, include the fee in the flight cost and if they test negative free to enjoy the country no quarantine and if they are positive they get forced into a quarantine location. Test before departure and again on arrival Something like that might actu...

Re: Survey on two person in the cockpit rule

I did answer your question Jack. Your training didn’t gain you access to the flight deck, it gained you the seat behind the controls as a qualified pilot. FA training doesn’t gain them access to the flightdeck, it gains them their jumpseat as a qualified flight attendant. Neither your training or th...

Re: Survey on two person in the cockpit rule

The FAA still has the rule. What risk are you talking about? FA’s still come to the flight deck just as much as they always have. Pilots still go to the lav just as much as they always have. Flight attendants have not been banned from the flight deck for any other reason including as JS riders. The ...

Looks like it’s been around for almost a year earlier than we thought. https://globalnews.ca/news/7119856/coronavirus-sewage-barcelona-march-2019/ How are we not all dead? 1. The infection curve is exponential so it takes a while to become a pandemic, and 2. Even as a pandemic it doesn't kill every...

Re: Survey on two person in the cockpit rule

Your training allows you to sit behind the controls and be one of the flight crew, not enter the door. If Transport Canada and your company didn’t trust you to safely fly the airplane you wouldn’t be regardless of any “two in the FD” policy.

Re: Survey on two person in the cockpit rule

Rockie, The FA’s usually just turned around and pushed on the locked door over and over and over again. The trained pilot actioned the automatic door control. Cheers. I think not. Most humans can figure out even a door they've never seen before after two tries, and since it's usually the in-charge ...

Most FA’s haven’t got a clue on how to open the door.
Then how do they get out after bringing you coffee and listening to how smart and handsome you are for twenty minutes?

Having a F/A babysit the Pilots is the most absurd thing on earth
You don't even know what the FA's job was in the flight deck, but at least your post proves your objection is driven by nothing but a bruised ego.

Ok...let’s wait 2 weeks for your doomsday to happen. When it doesn’t, will you admit that you were wrong? Re: Survey on two person in the cockpit rule

The assumption that you are making Rockie is that the FA is sane. This cannot be ascertained nor guaranteed. Pilot to pilot interaction in the flight planning room, the walk to the gate, the coffee lineup, and such, can give warnings of the mental state of each. This does not happen between FA’s an...

Re: Survey on two person in the cockpit rule

As noted there have been confirmed and suspected cases of pilots committing suicide either planned or by seizing an opportunity while left alone in a secure flight deck. This is not a hypothetical exercise. The second person in the flight deck has one job, to open the door if for any reason the othe...

Re: A mess to regain confidence.

A little awareness of current events goes a long way. A live Pelmet experiment is ongoing as we speak in the US and it’s going poorly, soon to be catastrophic. Death, again according to experts...real ones, follow infections by a month. Late July is going to be very ugly.

It increased my distraction. Send me a flight attendant to babysit me while the other guy is in the bathroom and I'll start missing radio calls etc while I entertain my babysitter.

The obvious solution it seems is to not entertain the other person, then you won’t miss radio calls.

Actually I've met quite a few people who'd be quite happy to have things not open up indefinitely. Mostly government workers who have been collecting full pay this whole time for little or no work. Unions are of course crying that it's "unsafe". Whether they really believe that or just like the pai...
