Re: Sleep Apnea
There is an alternative solution to sleep Apnea that does not involve CPAC(not all cases) nor surgery. It involves a upper & lower mouth guard worn during sleep times. (similar to sport protective). In 2008; wife had banned me to the adjacent bedroom; today i do not snore nor wear the guard. I would...

Re: On-Line License Renewal
After more reading .. discovered that the Application Form has a page 2 that contains the email addresses of district offices .. Was initially expecting a attach form & payment on the same web page. Did not expect a distinct separate email action .. also - good point about the electronic pdf email ....

Question .. Why so far out of the city?
Are they expecting a thousand commuters twice a day?
Sounds like either somebody dumped a lot of money in ..
or they are expecting lots of money to be dumped in ..

Re: Looking for cessna prebuy inspection in Yellowknife
I had some dealings with questionable aircraft ownership number of years ago in Yellowknife .. Caution when partnering up in an aircraft purchase. An aircraft (at the time) was known to be 160% owned amoungst all the participants. ... Especially with flight school Cessnas .. it was popular to want a...

Re: Home built documentation
Its one thing to have all varieties of rules .. its another to enforce them .. How will you enforce somebody tearing his engine apart in the back of his home garage .. .. its fairly easy to ensure a hot section is being done correctly in a hangar when variety of mechanics are walking to & fro .. but...

This is bad. His attitude is a reflection of his instructional abilities. What you are receiving as education will be at the minimum skill level to keep your job. Rather then excelling in your trade .. You will just drown your ambitions in despair .. so sad.

Re: wanted: freelance AME
U will get exactly what u paid for .. AME expects to be home for supper & will not attempt anything that will take time or require anything like riveting or looking under the floor (need to remove seat for that) or gear swings. Remove cowls, scrape out the lead from the spark plugs, oil filter, oil ...

Re: Predicament / Annual
Crossing the border is a lottery. I made the mistake of mentioning to the boarder agent i had a flashlite & mirror to look at something; after which i spent the next hour explaining these were not "specialized" tools. Another time (1/2 day waiting) we had to have proof faxed in (shipping documentati...

Re: PreBuy
Cost effective (cheapest) PreBuy is not recommended. Presently dealing with an aircraft that was imported; recent annual inspection discovered a previous Gearup landing with significant structural issues that were never rectified. Very painful & expensive decisions to be made. Prebuy not only involv...

Re: Weekend Feild Annuals
I may be a bit biased ... In the early '90s in Calgary .. I owned a full fledged AMO .. Next door(hangar) to me an Airport Employee rented a space & provided annuals on his days off .. He charged $300-$500 per annual for a basic Cessna / Comanche annual. - He had a line-up of customers .. - One Sub-...

Plse do not media blast thin skin Cessna wing / fuselage surfaces .. same thing as 'bead blasting' You will work harden the contact surface & it will prematurely start to crack in the near future. - just get a sheet of 12" x 12" 2024-T3 and blast one surface - note how it will deform. My 2cents after 30 years in the business .. Pilots are paid to fly an aircraft from point A to point B. There is is usually only 1 way to accomplish that.
