Lol. Believe it or not, I agree.

Interesting times ahead with this project and the other starting next year.

Cheers

Re: Let's all apply at Swoop!

You are missing an important point. Notwithstanding WestJet owns both, Wja & Swoop, they are different companies with different OC’s. Therefore, although work is being contracted to WJA, Swoop can and will get whatever training contracts needed by any company that will provide it at a reasonable cos...

Re: CIRB Decision

One list and forced on us. Interesting. Maybe that is where alpa should look for guidance in solving this. The one list works for Encore and the relationship seem to be working. Push for a one list with Swoop and maybe this may get everyone back to the table vs having the CIRB imposing something th...

Re: CIRB Decision

Are the anti - ALPA posters on here the same guy? Boney, NewCommercialPilot, squawk, rotten apple As for Boney or whoever this person's current alias is, Rouge does not involve a LOA. Pilots bid it for various reasons. One list, period. And that was forced on us FYI One list and forced on us. Inter...

Re: CIRB Decision

By the way, and I stand corrected, but, isn’t Rouge flown by AC pilots on LOA, or something similar, working for less than AC pay, I think using WJA contract? If yes, funny that they are egging you on to strike? I guess they are looking out for you, or maybe, looking out for themselves especially wi...

Re: CIRB Decision

Hope you are happy. There were enough WJA pilots that applied for the LOA to crew at least 3 airplanes, mostly commuters.

Re: Gregg Saretsky is the modern Frank Lorenzo

You just threw your own under the bus. Sad How so? Saving them from themselves more like it. Arguments were made by the company and alpa and the independent third party, after weighing the evidence decided that something stank, and ruled accordingly. You know "boney", were you planning on leaving y...

Re: Swoop Blacklist

That does not absolve you of your responsibility to produce an opinion based on fact. You can contact your manager for the above mentioned ULP complaints and Injunction requests. I suspect they will be less than thrilled to provide them though. There are 4 documents in total that provide the legal ...

Re: Swoop Blacklist

If we could get a one list with Swoop, like Encore, that YOS will follow back to mainline. Those that took up the 2 year LOA have at least ensured that. That's one massive assumption in the GS era. This is all about low costs. We don't have a YOS at WestJet unless your Captain 37 going captain 67. ...

Re: Swoop Blacklist

Not an ALPA member, like the ~20% of WJA pilots, therefore have no access to any information. Yes, I'm fully aware that I have no say, but that's my choice. Cheers
20 percent... that doesn’t sound like a made up number at all...
Can ALPA then provide the number of WJA pilots that ...

Re: Swoop Blacklist

This is incorrect. You need to read ALPA's response to WestJet's ULP complaint. WestJet twice approached ALPA regarding negotiations of Swoop. WestJet set one condition that ALPA must sign an agreement stating they forfeit all rights under Part 1 of the Canada Labour Code to begin negotiations. I.E...

Re: Swoop Blacklist

There have been a lot of interest and applications at Swoop, even with ALPA's black list. Many think that since there is no contract, as yet, with WJA, Swoop will end up in contract talks, and ALPA in their desire to get a CBA, which ALPA needs badly, aka dues, they will lift this black list. Bette...

Re: Swoop Blacklist

So, if pilot "A" heeds ALPA's request and not apply to Swoop, and pilot "B" applies and is hired, what will ALPA say to pilot A, a year or so when an agreement is put in place and all is forgiven, even accepting those that are already on Swoop's property?

There's the rub.

Re: Tecnam crash Calgary

Years ago, during my flight training, I did a manoeuvre, not unlike the above post, and didn’t like the way the aircraft felt. I overshot and returned, landed and went immediately to my instructor and explained my experience. He smiled, and both of us went up to the training area at 3000 ft to recr...
