I've never met the man, but I work with somone who knew him well and I have heard nothing but good. Here is a pretty cool article I found: http://www.imperialoil.ca/canada-english/thisis/publications/2003q1/pages/willy.html Willy Laserich Northern pilot SITTING BEHIND THE CONTROLS of his King Air, W...

They do (I understand) have an ex TC inspector, if not at the helm, very close to it? Did they not go after the company at all? The ex TC guy quit sometime ago. I heard from friends who worked there that he was extremely frustrated and clashed with clifford quite often. Oh and Pine Dock would have ...

Neither the owner nor his son the chief pilot visited or even called the pilot while he was in the hospital and later recovering at home. As soon as this happend, Keystone was quick to point the finger and place the FULL blame on Mark leaving him on his own to deal with it. Keystone, from what I hav...

I think a lot of you have forgotten the subject of this particular thread. 2 fellow aviators have died "at work". They have left behind grieving family members, friends and co-workers past and present. This thread is not the place for "rants" or little junior high battles. I would like to think that...

Is the Keystone verdict known yet?
Does anyone know what the outcome was in the trial against the pilot, or if it is even over yet? I haven't been able to find any new information on the internet recently.

CID you are right about the SMS program being adopted at Keystone shortly after the last accident. Let me tell you though. I had no idea what SMS was until I got a new job 18 months later. My new job had SMS and it was incorporated and pilots were indoctrinated on it. All we were told at keystone wa...

The fuel gauges on the accident aircraft were functioning properly. The pilot who crashed GPOW even said that to the media at one point in the freepress. It was the uncalibrated fuel flow gauges he referred to. My experience is not to trust the fuel flow gauge either. We had one aircraft at keystone...

sakism...I believe you have it incorrect. TC requires the auto pilot to be a 2 axis autopilot only, for that catagory. POW's autopilot, when it was installed, only had the minimum requirment. It could not couple to the approach. We only had 2 Navajos, at the time, at Keystone, which could. It doesn'...

I flew for Keystone at the time of the last accident. I even flew that day and was only a few minutes behind P.O.W. before it went down. Heck I even had the pleasure of flying that plane after it came back all refurbished within the 10 days or so before being destroyed. It wasn't an easy job by any ...
