Re: I give up on Canadian airlines
FYI for all looking into going to the US. If you go there on a worker's visa, and thus get a green card, may I advise to NEVER become a US citizen. It is a guaranteed mountain of paperwork for the rest of your life, whereas a green card holder has all the benefits for none of the restrictions (minu...

Re: license conversion question
Hi all. I know that license conversion questions have been covered multiple times here, but I can't find the answer to this one. Is the instrument rating baked into the FAA ATP? Specifically, when I go to write my ACH knowledge test (ATPL-H to FAA ATP), does the instrument rating ride along, or do ...

Re: Any US Visa success stories?
I also want to add that I've helped a few people with the moving process to the US. Folks that are serious, and are willing to make sacrifices make it down here within about a year or so. Those that want to come here on their own terms, likely won't find a path. It's one step back for five steps for...

Re: Any US Visa success stories?
:smt014 Anyone on here successfully got the EB-3 employer sponsored visa through a US employer or employment agency? I looked into it and apparently there is an employment agency (OMS) in Florida that offers this service with Cape Air and Amerijet. It costs quite a bit but leads to a green card if s...

Re: FAA "ACM" Exam
Has anyone taken this conversion exam lately? I have the Gleim test prep software, however it seems to be geared more towards the normal ATP exam and has 1500+ questions. If you've taken this exam lately, can you share specific categories worth spending extra time on? This conversion exam is only 6...

Re: 3 in a month
It's amazing to me the cultural differences between Canada and the US on this and most topics. The pilots I fly with don't care one way or another about your personal decisions regarding medical procedures, masking or basically anything else you do in your life. It's a very much, you do you, I'll d...

Re: Convert Canadian ATPL to FAA
Great, thanks for the response. I figured a previous type rating and time on type would be a prerequisite. I am currently an FO for a major Canadian airline and have no business jet type ratings or experience. I guess I will just wait to meet the EB-2 NIW hours/experience requirements and try to go...

Re: Convert Canadian ATPL to FAA
I was hired and sponsored by an America business jet operator. The licence conversion took a few weeks, and the O-1 work visa takes 15 days for approval if your sponsor pays for the express option. O-1? That's the first I've heard of that one being used. Congratulations on your visa. What did they ...

Re: Convert Canadian ATPL to FAA
The hardest part is getting your verification letter with your medical showing as valid as TC is sooooooo far behind. This is absolutely true - the letter itself however generates fairly quickly (I've done two - both were completed inside of a month). However, in my experience converting my license...

I know I did, and I personally know 2 others so far. Re: Evas Assisting with Immigration
Actually there is a maritime immigration "pilot" project. Pilot, as in "New", not airline pilot. Due to the shortage of workers in the maritimes, there is a special program that EVAS, and ant employer in the maritimes for that matter, has access to for any type of employee. The result of that progr...
