Will Westjet survive?
Things are getting worse everyday for everyone in aviation. With projections now saying a full recovery might now happen for several years and this could end up being 5 times more detrimental than 9/11. Do you think WestJet will make it. I assume the government will ensure Air Canada will survive.

Re: Does Canadian Airlines request PRIA records from US?
Thanks islandguy. Would you recommend staying at my current regional until I get some PIC time then applying to AC or should I make the transition now to a Canadian regional. I read info on AC and it seems like they're getting most of their pilots from their wholly owned regionals.

Re: Does Canadian Airlines request PRIA records from US?
I'll do more research into airline pay in Canada but just browsing Airlinepilotcentral it seems Air Canada pays more than enough. I don't have an expensive lifestyle and don't need 300k a year to live comfortably. As for my background the only black marks I have is a speeding ticket 4 years ago and ...

Re: Does Canadian Airlines request PRIA records from US?
Commuting from Canada to US will be difficult because they do not allow jumpseat for international flights. U have to ride in the cabin and that can be difficult sometimes with a lot of oversold flights. If I was flying for Delta it would be worth the hassle but not at a regional. Plus Air Canada pa...

Does Canadian Airlines request PRIA records from US?
I'm currently flying for a regional in the US but I'm looking to apply for a job in Canada. I was wondering if Canadian Airlines will want to get my PRIA records from the FAA/ US carriers? Does Canada have a similar system as PRIA (pilot record improvement act)? PRIA in a nutshell is a report on eve...

Re: Anybody commuting to a US carrier?
Thanks Stinky. Were you flying for a Canadian Airline when this happened? Do the recipricol jump seat agreement apply between US and Canadian airlines as well? I know a lot of United and American Airline fly into Canadian cities but it would be nice to hop on an Air Canada or West Jet flight into NY...

Re: Anybody commuting to a US carrier?
I'm in the process of doing the same thing as GTF moving from the US to Canada and commuting back into the US to fly for a US carrier. My wife lives in Ottawa and I have a choice between crew bases out of Chicago, Philadelphia, Newark, and Washington DC. I'm trying to figure out the specifics of com...
