Re: One of the truly good guys, Wayne McLeod has passed away.

Wayne was a great guy. The Arctic is a tough place to operate, and he made my job easier. He was approachable, friendly and fair. I never shared a cockpit with him, but the times I spoke with him in the middle of the night or when I had maintenance issues were all positive experiences. I wish there ...

Re: Air Bravo

It's been a couple years for me, but if you can get hired there as a low-timer, it is a great opportunity to get started. I had a great experience with Rick (owner) and Sara (CP). If you can hack a little tough love, they are good to work for. You will see a lot working there, and they are reasonabl...

I also get annoyed by that. There were a few guys out of Iqaluit saying "First Air's XXX," and I have heard "Wasaya's XXX" too many times as well.

Re: Handing in resumes N. Ontario - decent operators to visit?

Air Bravo is a good option. They have many rotational pilots, pay well and it is a good place to work. Stop in and talk to Sara, the CP when you are in YQT.

Re: Deal or No Deal?

I agree. Those that took jobs at GGN should have done so with eyes wide open. A good example is the DECs that have been hired there. There are tradeoffs in everything, and taking that seat carried its risks. I don't want to see anyone out of a job, but I fail to see any reason why they should be giv...

I do this leg all the time. Takes about 3 minutes by Caravan. Every day I will do numerous flights between the islands in Belize that are less than 5 minutes long.

What about the David Clark DC Pro-X? I have a few friends that have it and they all love it. I am going to buy one for myself soon.

Re: EVAS Air Topic Crushed

You can't tell Tom to hire me. I'm telling you where my application stopped at. Doesn't make sense to you or me. Evas is not currently interested in hiring Canadians. The fact is Tom Uddenberg asked me to provide a copy of work permit or visa. As a born Canadian I do not have or need either of them...

Re: Time to Stand Firm

You make some good points up until the last paragraph. Explain to me how exactly you are ensuring the competitiveness and viability of your employer by only actually operating flights when the company is forced to pay you overtime rates? If you aren't in the seat, how do you generate revenue? How do...

Re: Keewatin King Air

Pay for the King Air is $50000, and goes up by $5K every year...if you last that long. The pay was negotiated by the union, so don't expect to be able to negotiate for more. The pay is very low, but it is a great stepping stone to better things, and it seems like nobody lasts for much longer than a ...
