Re: Air Georgian and Air Canada
I guess TC will now monitor the maintenance more carefully instead of just relying on what they are told by the company. Not the hotel business OYR. But for perspective AGL is audited by AC, IATA and TC. Not sure if you have ever been through an IATA audit .... but .... oh wait I know you haven't. ...

Re: Air Georgian-National Post Article
It doesn't mention the color of their skin at all. They just mention language as an issue. Georgian playing the diversity card is actually the one's being racist by using their employees ethnic backgrounds as some kind of shield against safety concerns. I suspect since the complaints were filed dur...

Re: Air Georgian-National Post Article
Im still waiting for the little boop on my phone from CBC titled "Reported Air Canada CRJ plane crash after takeoff in YYZ" from my phone. Other than the obvious glass house comment that is hanging out there..... you should give your head a shake or get out of aviation. Way offside, pretty disgusti...

Re: Reps from operators express concern on new duty regs
Working for up to 14 hours straight starting at midnight is criminal. Period. That needs to stop. It should have stopped years ago! Further investigate and consult with industry, by all means. The current regulations - which I would argue are the worst in the world in terms of fatigue - need to cha...

Re: Reps from operators express concern on new duty regs
The proposed regulations aren't perfect, but they're better than the existing regime. These operators are implying the opposite, and the fact that they haven't proposed an alternative indicates that they don't want change. If there's a better system, then they need to propose it , because no one ca...

Re: Reps from operators express concern on new duty regs
Both ALPA and operators dislike the proposed regs, but for opposite reasons. ALPA says they're watered down and wants them to be more aligned with the rest of the world, and maybe world leading. Operators are saying they're too expensive and unnecessary. None of them said they were unnecessary and ...

Re: Reps from operators express concern on new duty regs
Keep in mind Steve is running Canadian North, the same airline that was doing 6 sectors across Canada in the middle of the night in 737-200's. Going into St John's at 9am most of the guys were so tired the amount of little errors were almost comical. Last i checked in aviation our goal isn't to wai...

Re: GGN Interview Questions
Every airline these days are sending pilots to A.C. Heck there are actually more from Encore than from the induvidual express carriers. But that's beside the point. Any of that money being passed down to the pilots? I'd love to hear about pay, vacay, and SDO's. Voting 99% in favour of the union mea...

Re: Bargaining idea
This is all playing out to Air Canada’s master plan perfectly. This whole contract was a union bust and they are playing both sides like fiddles. The strongest thing any union can have is solidarity in its membership. The greatest loss in the 2015 contract was the loss of solidarity in the separati...

Re: Bargaining idea
Do you guys read my posts, you will not outnumber the senior guys in a few years unless Jazz grows from the current fleet plan, again 832 voting pilots of 1179 needed post September 2018 is 66%. Read your post again, how entitled are you? You want me and 831 other pilots to make your path to AC mor...

Re: What is the Average Time to Upgrade from Express to Air Canada Mainline?
Hello all, I feel this question is better posted here than in one of the express forums, as I’m sure many of you have been through the PML process. To give an example, someone with 1500 hours and a 4 year degree gets on with Jazz as a first officer on the Q400 (if fleet type matters.) what would be...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Just an observation or two for those trying to come over. Many changes in the hiring methods over the last 35 years. Those being hired, as of late, seem to now be about 50% from the Regional carriers and the rest, off the street. Military, WJ, Transat, Encore, Sunwing, Corporate etc, etc. Almost al...

Gsus you're a bit thick. No one said dressing nice will get you a pay raise, only that looking like a careless slob certainly isn't going to help you get ahead either, so why not carry yourself like the professional you want to be considered? What's with always trying to do the bare minimum possibl...

Re: Professionalism
How would dressing nice get you a pay riase? You're all on union contracts, on which only seniority matters. I've yet to see a "dress nice" clause that would give you a pay raise. Some interesting logic there! I'm curious: to all the guys who say that pay is irrelevant to dress "like a professional...

So you're saying some guys got the initial email after March 5th, the screening and in person complete for a start date already???? Can confirm - but I assume they had already applied on the old PML. They were all asked to reapply on the now portal, calls went out the next day. One of the big impro...

Anyone else start noticing a trend in uniformed crew wearing big unsightly music headphones at the gates while waiting for their flights (operating or commuting) with feet up in the air like some a punk. It looks TERRIBLE! And don't get me started on the bright red backpacks  Okay there Captai...

Re: Did we reach the next phase of the pilot shortage?
That’s what the colleges have done. Typically around $80-$100k salary (vs hours) for instructors that have industry experience. Lots of takers too since it doesn’t require extensive travel. I considered it, but currently have a good schedule with equivalent pay. The colleges are partially funded by...
