Re: All you underpaid airline pilots...

I just stumbled across this forum and topic today and this is my first post as I see a lot of discussion regarding Frontier. I interviewed last month and have a CJO pending approval of the TN-1 visa in which their lawyer is working on. I am hopeful but also a bit skeptical on if it will be approved...

Re: Cargo: Are AC Pilots this stupid?

Its 90% of mainline 767 wages. Big raise from the rouge flying. With mainline working conditions to boot. It could bring hundreds of pilots back from the street and save some sense of career progression. Anyone off of flat pay will be the highest paid cargo pilots in Canada. One man, One vote. The ...

Re: Does the Former MEC Chair smoke crack?

Ya, there's certainly something strange going on in this guys head. He easily ranks a the absolute worst MEC Chair we have ever encountered. Bruce White is a close second. I'm puzzled as to his motive for acting this way. It's either money, like someone is paying him or there is some other financia...

Re: WestJet Pilots vote in favour of strike

The public thinks pilots make a lot of money. They have no sympathy there. Zero Fooks given. "public sympathy" doesn't negotiate the contract. You get what you negotiate. Good news for the general public, there is a pilot shortage and everyone is hiring. Go get 'em Westjet pilots. With pilot morale...

It was reported at one point that it was 3600 pounds - but you know, with the media, who knows.

Re: $100K Signing Bonus - Hiring Pilots

I can share I am a Canadian Citizen / Resident who has been flying Private Jets for past 5 years. Being type on a jet they operate was very beneficial. The company who hired me used their own immigration law firm as they have been hiring and sponsoring foreign pilots over the past few years. They s...

Re: $100K Signing Bonus - Hiring Pilots

I was sponsored by my USA employer on O1 visa with express option. This provides an approval in 15 days after submission. Curious about your residency/citizenship, experience level, how you went about the process (through a lawyer, employment agency etc) and who you are flying for. If you're willin...

Re: Routes for each aircraft type

737 Max are ETOPS rated, and so are the 320/321neos, and several airlines cross the Atlantic daily with them, just look at Air Transat If a pilot were to pursue a job with them on aspirations of routinely flying a specific route, good luck. For years guys had second families in BOG and GRU. When th...

Re: Why does AC not have a base in YYC?

The concept of a virtual base would be easy to implement making YYC,YEG,YOW and YHZ viable virtual bases where pairings could be created and bid on saving the company DH pay and the ability to sell another seat.... but no, this is the way it's always been done.

I'm not sure what that means tabarnac But we can't be doing things for too much money otherwise Air Transat will be taking our flying. We owe it to the company to do that little extra for free or else the competition will be taking our jobs!! This is the kind of attitude that has brought Canadian p...

Wasn't Murphy the one that took 82 hrs while he pushed the 55 hrs Covid agreement on the pilot group? So youre saying BM was the highest paid pilot at the base during Covid while he sent his members around the world during a pandemic as he sat from home? While pushing a paycut to save the company m...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???

Uh what? If we compare bottom of the list AC to bottom of the list AT, their pilots received an extra year and a bit (or $30k) worth of CEWS. They will likely be back to flying a year earlier too. And to top it all off, their first four years of pay is significantly higher than AC's flat pay. When ...

"But still" what? What countries require aircrew to be vaccinated? Canada doesn't. US doesn't. Mexico doesn't. In fact no country in the Americas does. EU doesn't. UK doesn't. So who? People here are stating that it's a legal requirement. Where? Canada does as of August 13th 2021. Air Canada made i...
