Re: ACPA votes again....

20% of eligible members voted for the winner of our by-election.

That's how democracy works, this is actually a better turnout than we're used to seeing! It's good to see member engagement increasing.

Congratulations to our new MEC member!

Re: ACPA votes again....

Observer, why do your unmeritorious arguments sound so familiar to me? Maybe I know who I'm talking to here. I'm sorry to advise, you don't really grasp the Age 60 Co-Captain piece of the FOS submission as I suspect we have debated before. Arbitrators are to be governed by several principles includ...

Re: ACPA votes again....

Disco. Rhymes with San Francisco. Hmmmm. Anyways, if you were putting together a submission for a final offer selection arbitration, and I said to you, “We want to lose. Put some crazy a$s sh#t in there to guarantee we lose.” You would be hard pressed to top the ridiculous age 60 discriminatory sche...

Re: What's the oldest age one should consider AC

50!???!!? Damn man. I am just under thirty and thinking of not going, not for my age but for the seniority I will have. All the power to you... But I"d urge that you need to rethink this though... In your 20's and thinking you won't get enough seniority because too many people are hired recently ah...

Re: Career First Officer at AC by design?

59% of voters isn't any better. Default vote should be set to "No" for anyone that doesn't take the time to vote yes/no or conciously abstain. Well that’s an in interesting take on the democratic voting process. You should propose that at our next constitutional amendment conference. Why stop there...

I respect that you had nothing to do with this atrocious WAWCON contract that we passed by an unimpressive 53%
Facts! We don’t need no stinking facts!

59.3%

If you don’t vote, you don’t count.

Re: New Arbitrated Contract

Pension

"Committee per ALPA proposal"

What does that mean? That the pilots will have a committee to talk about it? Or did you actually get some sort of retirement scheme? Any new Company money?

Re: AC New hires please us your WB bid

I get it... You still believe everything your representatives tell you. http://www.cwipp.ca/about_why_join.aspx Participation in CWIPP is open to any employer who has a collective bargaining agreement with a CLC-affiliated union. http://www.alpa.org/en/about-alpa/what-we-do/affiliations In Canada, ...

Re: AC New hires please us your WB bid

In talking to some of our newest NB Captains hired in 2012, they have already received $10 000 more in contributions in 2018 from the Company under CWIPP Because they are making like $100,000 more. Or maybe they weren't doing maximum contribution on the DC to maximize their match under the old plan...

Re: AC New hires please us your WB bid

The DC plan was forced upon the pilot group in FOS albeit after being negotiated in TA1, but the majority of the pilots you’re harbouring this resentment towards voted against both changes to the pension plan, the 4 years of fixed rates and voted 98% in favour of walking off the job to back it up. ...

Re: Disability Benefits For Pilots Over Age 60

Air Canada, in its 2013 Annual Report posted a $125 million gain that it directly attributed to the pilot collective agreement reduction in training costs as a result of the repeal of mandatory retirement in 2012. My plaintiff appeal was then, and still is now, interpreted by you and your peers as ...

Re: Air Canada Wins CUPE Grievance re B2 Passes For Pilots

FAs gladly took higher priority passes when offered by the employer. xmas, nye, performance based, etc. plus 3*C1/J10 on their own agreement. Kudos to CUPE for trying to get something for their membership, something ACPA sorely lacks on. Am I the only one not following your train of thought? ACPA s...
