Re: CEWS Extension

Email just came out from the union talking about a bit of an extension. Awesome news! Certainly hope this is something the rest of the company was able to take advantage of as well... FA’s and office staff. Fingers crossed they can take this all the way out to August. Good news regardless! It’ll mak...

CEWS Extension

Since AC announced they will not be extending the Wage Subsidy program, Jazz and the Union have been pretty quiet. They said they were looking at extending in their last communication, which is awesome, but with the deadline of round 1 being next week and not hearing anything from them for a while, ...

Re: The Return to Normal?

I see this thread is being hijacked now just like the Coronavirus Numbers thread.

Before you get this one shut down as well, can you take this argument somewhere else.... like the General Comments board perhaps.

What’s the new future?

With the country and the world under stay at home orders, anyone who can work from home is, and Im wondering if this might impact the future of the Business Traveller. Major companies are realizing it’s quite easy for their staff to function in a home office setting and keep the business running. Is...

Re: Layoffs

Honestly, get a lawyer and sue them. The effects on your career are horrible and that notice was very questionable. all you want is a guaranteed number for a call back, I get that. And you should have it IF you signed the offer letter Wondering why legal action should be the answer here? I'm sure a...

Re: Wil Jazz hire with instructing time only?

Heres a question. Ill be sitting with a brand new ATPL soon. Instructed all of it and have basically no multi time (25hrs). However I have lots of single IFR time. COVID 19 aside and when the world is normal again.... How likely is it to get in? I can sympathize with your current situation, you bus...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Well I guess this is the end of this thread for a while... Weather you think this virus is a joke or a flash in the pan, the reality is the GLOBAL economy and our industry has been absolutely decimated in the span of a couple months. If you think we’ll recover from this in a few weeks/months, I thin...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Hey guys and gals Not sure if I am in the correct thread, have an interview with AC next week, wondering if anyone here can throw some tips on it, what kind of questions, how long is the interview?, any technical stuff? are they all" tell me about a time" type questions etc, etc. Any help / advice ...

Re: DEC

One thing that needs to be said, unless you are READY and CAPABLE of going DEC you should be more focused on being an FO for a year or so and upgrading when you’re ready! Let’s use some common sense here... a guy flying corporate jets around the world going DEC is one thing. A 3 year flight instruct...

Re: Boeing Update, for Air Canada Pilots — News and Views

If the equipment bid is being completely re-jigged, a high likelihood that Max pilots will be re-introduced to flying on other equipment in the system, is it safe to say there could be a slowdown with new hires? Considering the high class sizes already this year, and now the Max pilot group all need...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

This feels like a prank or something.

Wasn’t AC looking at minimizing their wide body growth rather than expanding it? ‘87 to replace the ‘67 and no expansion on the 777....??

I’ll wait to see some other kind of news about this, outside of AvCanada, before I believe it.

If the recent bid has been cancelled, will they put a new one out right away or will it likely be in 2 months as per the normal equipment bid schedule?

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Thanks for the info! How long does it usually take for HR to put calls out? I imagine it depends on their ability to connect with everyone, but do calls go out over a few days or is it typically a short exercise like a day or 2? Trying to figure out where I might slot in on the list based on what so...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

I believe calls went out for a number of classes just before Christmas (up to Feb 17 if I understand correctly) if this is the case, can we expect a delay for the March 9 class calls, or could these be coming soon(ish)?

Just throwing it out there to see if anyone has any info.

Cheers,

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Anyone know when the next round of calls could be going out?

If they called for the Feb 17th class already before Christmas should we expect some silence for a while while they catch up?
