Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Some who interviewed around that time are being hired. It all depends on how you score. So then why not PFO people if they don’t want them? The higher you score during the whole interview process the sooner you'll be hired. Simple as that. Waiting doesn't mean you're not wanted. Does the scoring sy...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

That’s a fair point, poor choice of wording on my part... no reference to being in “a pool”, it was more of a “we’re still reviewing your application” vibe to the email.

As always with this forum it seems, quick correction from the ones who care. Cheers fellas!

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Hahaha ya, an email essentially touching base letting us know we’re in the pool and our file is still being reviewed by the hiring board. When looking at my inbox, the first few words associated with this email were “our sincerest apologies”... From my understanding there has been a lot of negative ...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Wondering if Iflyroads or any other AC insider has information regarding upcoming class sizes now that the Max is off the schedule for another month. Is it safe to say we can expect groups of 10-15 for the next few classes? Thanks, T. From my understanding the next class coming up has 40 in it. Tak...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

I was under the impression the seniority draw for each class was completely random, equipment selection was then done based on that seniority. I was not aware AC “assigns” positions. Also, any word on final numbers for the Oct 21 class? I’ve been hearing calls were still going out mid-late this last...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

I wrote HR as well as some buddies who haven’t heard for some time. The response was “sorry for not getting back to you with a final decision. Your file is still being reviewed by the hiring board, we hope to have a final decision for you shortly.” I imagine the HR group is busy, but contacting them...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

14 new hires, wow. Thought it would be much larger given the 800+ open spots to fill by next summer.

10 last class, 14 for Oct 21... is the Transat deal maybe playing into these numbers or is it the Max?

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Hi everyone, Is there ANY information about upcoming ground schools? I’ve been waiting 7 weeks since my interview, I know lots of guys who are currently at 12-14 weeks and we’re all aware that the last equipment bid says there’s a need for 800+ new hires by next summer... but no one knows what the h...

August Equip Bid

Hi all, Just wondering what the word is out there about an August bid. With all the hiring we’re doing I can’t imagine the training department has the ability to add a ton of equipment changes and upgrades, but with the movement out of the company it’d also suggest the company ‘needs’ a bid. Thought...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Let’s stay on topic everyone, the mud slinging thread is elsewhere!

The last time I was on this thread there was talk of only 3 classes being confirmed through August. Can anyone confirm if this has changed? Is class sizes of 50 every 3 weeks the new plan?

Thanks,

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Iflyroads, thanks for all the updates, very helpful. You posted last month saying there would be a GS every 2 weeks during this summer, now you’re saying it’s more like once a month until August. Is it fair to say hiring will be slowing right down until after the integration of Transat pilots if thi...

Any chance we just lost our AC flow?

Hi all, What are the chances this possible AC / AT deal results in Jazz losing our 60% flow we just committed to? Anyone know if there’s some fine print out there that speaks to this... good or bad? Or did the pilot need just go from 550+ to 0 at AC while they do cross training over the next few mon...

Re: Air Canada redeploying Q400 and new CRJ routes

Looks like Van and Calg Q can still expect 6-8 legs a day with the added short legs out West... ugh. They were already doing 6-8 leg days out west on the Q. That’s why I said “still”. How many legs on average do the YYZ/YUL folks do a day on the Q? The new bid is interesting, Ive been hearing...
