Re: HELP: How can I satisfy the recency requirements abroad?
Why are you concerned about the 6 month recency requirement? If you want to carry passengers, just go do some circuits before they arrive once you're back in Canada. There's no need to stay recent 'all the time' if you have no use for the license. The UK shouldn't care about Canadian recency to car...

HELP: How can I satisfy the recency requirements abroad?
Finally received my new ADB in the mail yesterday however I no longer meet the 6-month recency requirement. While I understand that it is possible to meet the requirement in a foreign-registered aircraft I would first have to be legally allowed to fly in the country. I reside in UK and from what I'v...

You’ll certainly be looked down upon employers because there is really no operational experience to gain from flying around in circles in a 152 from 250-1500 hours.

So long as you have your multi rating. To upgrade your I.R you just need to do an IPC in the multi and submit the report to TC

Instrument proficiency check + First time transition.
Hello all, I’ve been searching for answers regarding upgrading a Group 3 IFR to Group 1. Multiple people claimed it was possible to achieve solely using a FTD, some said I’d have to do the entire flight test from scratch. After reading the flight test guide I think it’s safe to say that all one requ...

Re: How hard is it to get the first job after cpl
It’s tough. I’m working in a warehouse doing manual labour. Everyday for the last year I’ve been looking for flying work but absolutely no luck. Being a minority doesn’t help anything but I’ll remain optimistic that things will change for the better especially with the World Cup coming to Canada in ...

Re: When ALPA says 'Where should we set our bar?'
Now GO transit workers are set to go on strike on Monday…..I believe it’s long overdue the union grow a pair and stand their ground by demanding better wages regardless of whatever criminal laws prevent such demonstrations or even strikes. Enough is enough. If we, as a collective can organize a day ...

Re: Post graduate work permit pilots
Most international students that I know of took up jobs in instructing or went through the ramp part until they finally get to fly with the company's aircraft. I would suggest you get going with the multi engine rating then see what you could do further. Also if you graduate or complete your flight...

Post graduate work permit pilots
Greetings all, I recently completed my CPL flight test. It wasn’t easy (especially with COVID followed by the hike in fuel prices) but after all the sacrifices, we made it! I’m now weighing my options…FI or Multi? Unfortunately for me, I’m in no position to fork out another $15,000 for the FI course...

Cessna Caravan C208B initial training
Greetings,
I'm seeking initial training on the Cessna Caravan. I have a potential gig overseas so ideally I'd like to get checked out while in Canada since it would probably work out to be more cost efficient. Any recommendations?
Thanks

Re: Why aren't Canadian pilots going on strike?
Seriously, everyday I read aviation news, there is always some pilot group voting for strike action. There were the US airlines in the past few months voting in favour of strike action, along with a flurry of raises across the board. Now, Lufthansa is now talking about strike action https://simplef...

Re: US Airlines Hiring Canadians
Hi, Yes I think there would be plenty of reason to strike. 1) We actually have no idea what would be the consequences because the last strike in Canadian aviation was in 1765. why would the company would negociate anything if they do not have anything to lose? I would not negociate anything if I wa...

Re: US Airlines Hiring Canadians
Rather than holding your breath for the USA to ease the immigration restrictions for us Canadian aviators (which is unlikely to happen) why don’t the majority host a strike across the entire country. I’ve seen people in the construction industry stop working as a a collective and as a result pay wag...

CFI means Chief Flight Instructor. Hmm.. sorry I forgot to acknowledge that it's the US term. Re: So everyone is leaving?
Because they don't know the realities of the job. Or maybe they do, and still want to do it. Most pilots I know, who bitch about the aviation industry also have no experience doing other jobs. Or very limited experience. Lots of neophyte pilot resumes I see are guys and gals doing jobs I don’t envy...
