Re: The Aftermath: faces and stories from YZF tragedies 2011
Not only was this article so well written, it was respectful to everyone involved and I feel that it accurately portrayed the feelings of a whole town and family, as well as the individuals that were involved and their loved ones. As a group, we're starting to look around now, pick up our heads, and...

Re: Resolute Bay Accident - Pilots Discussion Thread
The real reason Scott resigned has nothing to do with the accident. He remains the Accountable Executive in the eyes of the law, and had no trouble shouldering that title and what comes with it. Please wait for the report and avoid speculation. We know this was a CFIT accident. That's what people ne...

Re: R.I.P - Paul Laserich (Memorial Service)
After arriving at the Yellowknife Airport with only a few bags and an intimidated look on my face, Paul was the first person who introduced himself. He offered me a ride downtown to the YK Inn, and gave me his number in case I'd ever need anything. Three years later, when he was deep into his fight ...

Re: First Air ATR-72
One will be operational the end of this week and will begin service in the Eastern Arctic based out of Iqaluit, with the other coming online with a large freighter door in Q1 2012 for the same market. Expect to see more of the same type added to the fleet before the end of the year as First Air is i...

Have seen the site first hand and it's not a good scene. Please pray for everyone involved. The folks at ASW are a tremendous group of people and need all of our prayers and well wishes right now.

Re: Interesting diversion for Porter last night
No,
That's not the business model or the case. They tried the approach, would have landed prior to curfew or within the grace period, and missed the approach so then, much like airplanes trying to get into any other airport with crap wxx, they diverted to a suitable alternate.

Re: Interesting diversion for Porter last night
So what's your issue then??? Last overshoot at 2257, airport closes at 2300. Am I missing something here or is this just another mud slinging crap post. Other airlines routinely land right at the time of closing at many airports across this country and others..... Of course they had fuel on board fo...

Although by the pictures you could also say that the Transafrik Herc lost an engine! Would the props feather during an emergency shutdown, or does anyone think they might've come in with two feathered? Or worse yet, had two feather at the wrong time...

Re: Flight Duty
Your time free from duty must be actually planned days and can't simply be because you were weathered or on stuck in LA with the aircraft. That being said, if the schedule comes out and has you scheduled for days off in LA, that's legal. It just has to be planned in advance and not decided once the ...

Re: First Air - reduces Edmonton flights, adds YVQ
Canada EH, As I stated in my post earlier, I think Westjet is great. However it's simply not fair for you to compare cost structure on a similar route flown down south with Southern based equipment and infrastructure costs. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Anyhow. It's all said and done. West...

Everyone on this site is constantly complaining about wages and working conditions and fair contracts and so on. I want to call out all of you that yap on and on about that but yet say that the Northern Carriers are gouging. What kind of fools are you? You have no issues to see one of the few Canadi...

Buss! You are my hero. Really! Well said on the quote "Pilots not being responsible for the class of the people sitting behind them!" So true. I'm so sick and tired of all the fools posting on this forum about one airline or another screwing up their cute little packaged vacation. You get what you p...

Re: 7F Rumour
We don't actually fly any 727's anymore. Sorry for the bad news. As for the 737's, I think you'll soon be in luck in the noise department. There will be newer aircraft in the 7F fleet very shortly...

FICU - This wasn't meant to be a mud slinging competition. To those who've emailed and expressed support, I send my thanks. As far as the codeshare option... I'm not "in the know" on what went on with that, but I'm fairly certain that neither Canadian North or First Air would refuse such an option a...

Re: canadian north announcement.
Okay... wow... I'm not into mud slinging as it's way too similar to our current "race to the bottom" that the airline industry in general loves to love. One of the main points for my post was to seek you support. I guess it's clear that everyone has their own side. I don't feel that way. I simply th...

Re: canadian north announcement.
I do. Northern Airlines are owned by the people of the North, from the James Bay Coast to the Beaufort Sea and were bought and built to serve the people of the North with a level of service not seen in Central Canada since the last Wardair flight passed through. The shareholders have mandated a safe...

The drums are 45 Gallons... so... typo... but it would be quite the adventure for a inexperienced pilot. Great experience but you'd need to get all your ducks in a row. Good Luck... and take lots of pictures for us.

Contract crews to train 7F crews to start out as with any new airplane type. Crews have already bid on the plane and shuffle of crews up through the ladder is taking place.

Okay, I respectfully asked the original poster to change up the title and now I'd like to respectfully ask the mods to pull this one down or atleast change up the title. We all have families to feed and everyone knows that the media trolls this page.
Thanks.
