Re: 17 year TA?
Credit only after a 3.5 hr wait. They ran through the books and figured it only affected a small number of people. We should ask for credit after a 2 hour airport reserve. I think you have completely unrealistic expectations of what to expect in a cost neutral period. There is nothing cost neutral ...

Re: Think carefully before you make your next move
After this arbitrated deal, I wonder how many applications AC has received from WJ pilots in the last few weeks.

Re: Think carefully before you make your next move
We are not postal workers... The world is not short of people who can carry bags and walk. I respect your position, and where you are in your career. But you have already let your position be known; you hope to be at Air Canada, and see these terms as your path to get there. I don't blame you for t...

Think carefully before you make your next move
AC just announced today the repatriation of a lot of Express routes. With this agreement we would be securing work for seventeen years. At the same time AC has shown their willingness to take flying back. With the addition of the C-Series I think it's a very possible chance if we don't do this deal ...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
Piece of CRAP TA. I disagree. - 60% of AC pilots to come from Jazz- not insignificant with the hiring that is coming there with something like 1200 pilots required at AC in the next couple of years. - 90% of those that apply will be accepted. In seniority so no BS about picking and choosing. Closes...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
It is the First deal as the rest of the pilot group hasn't nt voted no. If you vote no they have to come back with a second deal. Air Canada needs the feeder routes to connect to the larger aircraft. It's not like they're going to go out and buy regional props or jets. Also they just bought 97 mill...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
Do you think this is the first deal? That's what the negotiations committee is for. This is not a situation where we own the flying and have open bargaining due to a contract ending. This is mid contract. I fully believe if we vote this down, there will be no second deal. It is the First deal as th...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
You should never take the FIRST deal given to you. Basic negotiations. Go back and ask for more and get more. Our union guys are afraid to stand up to AC. Jazz paid ALPA dues this whole time. The MEC at Jazz cannot represent GGN best interest. This is not a merger. We are only offering them employm...

Re: Canadian Pilot Unity
Honest question. Does Wasaya and Bearskin pilots bring over their seniority date through the Jazz APP program? Yes and not. I believe you had to be on property at the time the LOU was signed which was Oct last year. And apply and get accepted for a job. Then they could only defer for a short while....

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
My guess is that somewhere in this deal there will be the opportunity for hundreds of Jazz pilots per year to flow to AC. The resulting Jazz pilot list will comprise over 75% of the Express pilot population. And if AC is willing to maintain the 80% hiring ratio vs OTS then Jazz pilots will fill alm...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
I'd be shocked if the Jazz MEC signs off on anything beyond BOTL, seniority order for the GGN guys on the date the agreement takes effect. Perhaps they will hold that date until they actually transfer and will be ahead of any Jazz new hires not yet on property. This isn't a merger. They can't repre...

Re: Canadian Pilot Unity
What about the guys at Jazz who recently just got a base transfer so they don't need to commute, only to be bumped out again?(something that I risk right now) Or the reserve FO who, after a year, finally held a block only to be bumped back into reserve? Based on our current collective agreement, th...

Re: Canadian Pilot Unity
I have nothing against GGN pilots and welcome them to Jazz. I have no love for Air Georgian the company. I worked there several years ago and know how they treat their pilots. I don't know the details of the new contract but hopefully it is beneficial to all. This whole mess we are in is because we...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
So, I'm looking at this overall 'plan'. Its indeed smoke and mirrors. 'Hey, you're getting Jets back in YYZ and YUL Woohoo.. oh by the way, it comes at the cost of you taking GGN pilots and losing airframes with a contract so long you're never gonna recover'. In 2019 we gain 5 CRJ900's from Skywest...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
No 1:1 means 1:1 YOS. AKA you have two years of service there you have two years here.
The system you are referring to is something like "relative seniority.". Which has been done in the past at other airlines.

Re: Grooming Update
The CUPE memo was pretty clear. Asking the pilots to not help groom for free, as when it comes to their own negotiations they'll expect the same from them. It's just a shame they get thrown under the bus for the foreseeable. Unfortunately it'll be the PAX that suffer, through either dirty cabins or...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
I don't disagree you're right things have slowed down. Maybe all the potential issues will be solved by a great flow agreement. Sr guys leave, Jr guys upgrade, Jr Jr guys move up the list, next year the next cycle hits. AC is going to be hiring for a while. We'll all find out on Friday. Sr pilots t...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.
You were awarded left seat at what? The one year mark? There are people hitting the one year mark at this company presently, flying on a comparatively worse plane and schedule, who are simply hoping to hold a block. So I find it extremely hypocritical that you're willing to throw them under the bus...
