Re: Fire the Transport minister

My class 1 was just extended from Aug 1 to Nov 1. Just got my sticker in the mail, without any prompting. Refesher courses were also available online from Aviation Solutions. I’m not really sure what you’re on about. redlaser also made another post about how he hasn't had any success this year with...

Re: AC pilot salaries now?

He obviously is a youngin who has never cleared north of 60K.

It would be interesting to see his honest opinion when he’s making 350k. Which he probably never will. And wouldn’t be honest anyways.

So why bother even engaging.

Re: AC pilot salaries now?

Actually everyone knows what the tax bill is because the 300k a year pilot pays the exact same taxes as the 60k a year pilot on the first 60k of income. Funny how people complain about taxes when it's sliced the same way for everyone. What about the other 240K. What are you saying? The pilot with 6...

Anyone whining that 180k is too much doesn't get it... and hasn't seen the tax bill, let alone that of the guys at 300K. Re: When is Air Transat likely to resume flights

When talking about infrastructure projects, Canadians need to look past government projects. A major infrastructure project could be the Energy East Pipeline to Saint John. It would employ thousands, and provide long term permanent jobs in NB. The Northern Gateway project is another that should be ...

And then you folks all wonder why nobody listens to the crybaby pilots whining about poor wages...
Imagine how upset you'd be if they were actually paid what they were worth like our neighbours south of the border.

In 80 years you won't be flying in airplanes. You'll be a systems technician working on a spaceship heading to Mars.
Sure maybe. But I guarantee it won’t have WJ painted on it.

If a company cannot exist without doing whatever it wants whenever it wants regardless of its CBA’s and organized labour groups then it shouldn’t exist.

Simple as that.

I am sure this deal wont happen, and thats not just me hoping. The market thinks the same as I do... The market is like you; sure of nothing because nothing is official yet except the fact that the deal is still in progress. AC would have already announced if this would have changed. Just read the ...

Re: WestJet Group Hiring Freeze

I doubt that the Westjet group is going to create 300+ initial training courses on a Q400 as part of their layoff plan regardless of what is in the one list agreement. Defeats the purpose of managing cash flow. I don't think anyone would expect you to understand what a CA is, or does, or prevents.

I posted this before, but no one answered. How long do you guys think airlines can survive bleeding money like this before needing money from the government? I know that at Transat we can survive one year with the company as it is. How about Air Canada? I’m not trying to piss anyone off, I’m genuin...

Re: Are recently laid off pilots hireable

Typically airline mentalities, particularly from pilots who have only seen the airlines, do not bode well for smaller operators. Your 10,000 hour Boeing pilot (while incredibly skilled in a Boeing) isn't used to the concept of self-reliance. I’m sure they plethora of laid off airline guys would fai...

500 ERIP eligible pilots.

How many will sign up?
Less than 50 is my guess.
I bet it’ll be a lot more than that. Especially given what’s going on right now. Will be interesting to see for sure.

Sorry it wasn’t as bad as some of you would have liked. The jealousy and bitterness is palpable.

Hopefully the layoffs are short lived for everyone everywhere.
