Re: Who will represent us?
Youre right, you can't compare the dynamics of GGN contract negotiations to Air Canada's. That's not what I was trying to do. GGN pilots voted alpa in thinking their size meant strength and that it would make contract negotiations a piece of cake. They were wrong. GGN pilots tried to negotiate a new...

Re: Who will represent us?
Alpa couldn't help Georgian's MEC get a contract done. And they set the doh precedent by giving doh to the GGN pilots going to Jazz.

Do you get extended?
I hear lots of positive stuff about Jazz and very little, if anything, negative. So I've not heard anything about extensions. Does it happen at Jazz? If so does it happen often? What about being asked to waive min rest? I guess I'm just trying to determine how respectful your crew schedulers are to ...

Captain requirements?
Do any of the Jazz folks here know if there are minimum requirements for Captain upgrades at Jazz? With upgrades happening in less than 2 years I can see that it would be possible for the college grads to be eligible for upgrade seniority wise with less than 2000 hours. Is that possible at Jazz? I u...

Does anyone here know if Jazz has had to ask AC to slow down the number of people being hired from the PML?

Hey Rupert. What's your post Secondary education situation? I hear it makes a difference.
I'm in your same boat with the float and PIC time. Just did the video interview waiting on a reply.

Re: Embry-Riddle Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics valid in
Of the people here who have taken ERAU courses online, is there anyone who did it to finish a degree? I'm a Seneca graduate from the days when the program only gave you a diploma. I was looking at doing the ERAU course to get my degree. They sort of want the same check on previous course compatibili...

Re: Jazz GS with under 1500 hrs TT
So it's come to this, people bragging about how little experience they had when Jazz called. I'd hope that the "leading" regional airline in Canada would require at least the airline license.
I was asking because I'm from the bush and my time is mostly...

Wow! Working at Thunder and living in Vancouver.
Can anyone tell me what the rotations look like there? I've been interested in flying for them but with the family pretty much tied down I wouldn't be able to move. I could handle a fairly good rotation though.

Re: 17 years old. What do I do?
I worked with a guy who flew floats in the summer and then went to school in the off season. He went to college for his commercial licence first, got the job in the summers and then did more college come September. If I had it to do over again and had the money to do the commercial licence privately...

Chief Pilot exam
Anybody here ever written the Chief pilot exam at Transport? I have the Study and Reference guide but I'm wondering if that's all I'll need, other than the actual reference material of course. There are only about 90 questions so I'm wondering if there is more to it. Any input would be appreciated.

Re: Chief pilot experience waiver
Thanks again cncpc. I'll have to look into it then. The outfit is a float operation that I've flown for before with me having close to 2000 hours. I've never been a chief pilot before though and I haven't flown 250 hours in 10 years. We'll see what happens.
