Re: MPIC time or move on? What's next?
Good Day Everyone, I am new here and this question might have been asked already, my apologies if so. I've been a 703/704 FO on a Multi-Turbo prop for about 8 month now. Started out of ramp in the middle of nowhere just like the old days. I am about to reach 1000TT soon. I've got an Aviation degree...

If it's not DOH, it's a sad day for aviation.

Re: Schedules
About the PICUS program I'd like to advise not to bank on it. To log PICUS you have to be flying with a LTC; right now most LTCs are flying full line indoc lines, have been for the last 6 months+ and most likely will be for the foreseeable future. And if you are lucky enough to land a pairing with ...

Re: Jazz Experience
Jazz requires 250 multi time minimum for non college/pathway applicants. If you don't have that your name will not show up in the system for interview calls. Explanation was rate of failure is higher (don't know numbers) for candidates with low multi time, therefore higher cost for the company hence...

Re: Application to first contact?
I know for a fact the main requirements are 500 multi and A's. And sometimes they'll ask for only iatra when the bank of applications gets thinner.

I only know about Jazz, and it does have a PICUS program.
I do not know about other companies.

Re: Jazz Share Price
There is a new profit sharing program; details elude me, but I beleive it was said its structure would be similar to how management bonuses were calculated. As for share, there has been an Employee Share Ownership Program (ESOP) for a long time already, taken off your pay and the company matches a p...

Re: Jazz GS with under 1500 hrs TT
I generaly don't like to play the devil's advocate, but remember that from a company's point of view this is business. They'll try to go as low as they can and anybody would do the same in this offer/demand market for pilots. Couple of things: By offering these wages they are (imo) probably aiming t...

Re: Jazz GS with under 1500 hrs TT
Because you know what the market was in 2005 in the province of Quebec? @ Ypilot, I don't deny the fact the annual starting wage is low, and qualifying for a mortgage with that kind of salary is a challenge; however I did manage to buy my first house with 42k on the paperwork as the sole income earn...

Re: Jazz GS with under 1500 hrs TT
Trust me I will never regret it.... This industry hasn't completely erased my self-worth and respect , there's no way I'm takin 34.5K a year to practise my profession and just to sit there for 5 years then go over to mainline to start all over again (maybe even for less $$ by that time)! No thank y...

Re: New Hire Bases & Commuting
That's painting a rather dark portrait of how it really is. First, there aren't necessary CDs on all bases and equipements; and sometimes they actualy go fairly senior as some people really like that flying. Secondly, I can comment on the life on reserve, as I have been bidding for it for the last 5...

This profession is a mess. Personnal attacks, that is REALLY going to help this business get better. Give your head a f%?ing shake guys. You don't know a person's personnal situation. I'm sure any of you NEVER did anything unethical. For the record, I work at Jazz. OP: gl finding the information you...
