Re: Are the working conditions / is the pay that bad at air canada

The contract has lots of hidden gotchas that affect your quality of life. They go along the lines of a really good contract, but end with "unless the company has to" or some other vague comment that the company can use. An example of this is under Reserve 29.10.04.02 "...when no other pilot is imme...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Sub 2000 wasn't true about a month ago. Guys were being told to apply again with ~1950 hours. Guys were getting hired a year ago with just over 2000 hours as well.... still lots of interest at AC, just a lot of guys waiting on the sidelines for a good contract before they commit to a lifetime of com...

Re: Showalter's

Anyone else have any comments on showalter. Looks like a great outfit with some cool planes, but how was the experience as a whole? Any fun facts worth knowing besides bringing bug spray

Cheers!

Re: Any past or current law enforcement/RCMP/Police turned CPL's?

Wow... Thanks for all the input! Don't know how many times I've sat down and thought about the pro's and con's of either career path, but hearing stories of people in similar situations really puts it into perspective... I've decided to finish up my training, get my float rating, and see what kind o...

Any past or current law enforcement/RCMP/Police turned CPL's?

Hello, Just wondering if there are any past or current law enforcement guys and gals in here flying commercially or vise versa? I keep flip flopping back and forth between to the two (flying and policing) as a viable career career choice. Both have their pro's and con's obviously but would love to h...

Re: Kenn Borek

It's mostly a matter of timing. I showed up in October with 1000hrs (almost all pic in the bush) and I was sent to flight following (not for very long once they got an opening I bypassed all the flight followers like an asshole). Two guys showed up 3 weeks before me, one with 100hrs on type but ver...

Re: Harbour Air

Both hiring minimums and pay scales have changed at HA. Not significantly, but changed nonetheless. They are losing too many pilots to the airline world and there aren’t enough pilots willing to swamp and drive for a few seasons out east to get the experience required to come to the big smoke. But ...

Re: Harbour Air

Anyone know if salaries have changed much since 2015?

I've heard captains cracking 6 figures.

Just wrapping up my CPL and wondering if Harbour Air would be a good long term career path to pursue. Seems like an amazing place to work.
