Re: FAA licence without US visa, Reality check!
"how many people have FAA licence but not be able to get a job down south? $ is tight , don't want to spend all the $ getting through ATP, and ended not using FAA licence forever. don't have US passport/green card and not be able to get work visa through families sponsorship. which airline would spo...

Re: TC to FAA Conversion
There is no ride if youre converting a TC ATPL to an FAA ATP. However, even if you hold an TC ATPL, you still have to complete the ATP/CTP course and ATP conversion written exam or the ATM exam. You will have to take a checkride if you only hold a TC CPL converting to FAA CPL. and no, you can not go...

Re: Any US Visa success stories?
Hawdy ya'll Just wondering if anyone has successfully done a US visa application? Which route did they take to acquiring it? We are hearing lots about the NIW visa but haven't really heard of success stories- maybe a couple of people being either sponsored or have 1837493728464 hours in their logbo...

I highly caution anyone wanting information to trust an anonymous post from a Cessna 172 Relief Pilot I would contact directly either: https://agimmigration.law/.well-known/captcha/?r=%2Fen%2Four-team%2F Or https://harveylawcorporation.com/eb-2-niw-program/ Both have a 90 plus percentage approval r...

Re: AC Pilots leaving to the US?
I highly caution anyone wanting to go through the NIW route. Lawyers will take your money for the pipe dream of being able to help get you a visa. Your best bet is through family immigration for the green card. Not to mention, should there be a flip to a republican president, house and senate in 20...

Re: All you underpaid airline pilots...
My NIW application passed. A colleague of mine also had his pass. The only thing standing between us and a green card is a medical and interview at the consulate. The major hurdle was the NIW petition. That being said, there have been many pilots who have had their applications rejected. And the de...

Re: All you underpaid airline pilots...
The NIW approvals are rolling in. I know of 9 pilots from a variety of Canadian airlines who have been approved! Now is the time if you are serious about it!! The rumor that Commercial Pilots qualify for an NIW based on the pilot shortage is false. There is no “Pilot Green Card”. Commercial pilots ...

Re: Carrier advice to get to AC
I think I know who this is... my advice would be to stay at encore and get the PIC time, then apply to AC when you meet the requirements. Like one said before, itll be less awkward when asked "why do you want to leave your current employer" and not having a middle man in there. Idk if AC would care ...

Re: United, Delta or American?
Hey Folks I am on the verge of quitting AC and relocating to the States to continue with my career. Was wondering if anyone who has recently moved to the States can provide some info on the following questions. 1. Converting my Canadian ATPL to FAA ATP 2. Taxes — If I decide to keep my house in Can...

Re: US Airlines Hiring Canadians
Atlas air is actively recruiting Canadians under the EB-2 visa but I believe you need to have your FAA ATP done before they'll sponsor you. It's not difficult, just a bit expensive. Here is a good run-down: https://www.google.com/amp/s/skiesmag.com/news/transport-canada-faa-convert-canadian-atpl-fa...

and this also doesnt guarantee a job....since you also need a valid work visa or green card (which any airline wont sponsor (99.9% of the time)) to even apply or be considered.

Re: US Airlines Hiring Canadians
The good news is that the US airlines model will be collapsing this year. Meaning, the current model of legacies having regionals with pilots gathering experience at regionals to move on to legacy will change drastically in the coming year. Regionals (and legacies owning regionals) are going to hav...

Re: US Airlines Hiring Canadians
The answer is no. unless you have a valid ATP and work visa or green card. which you cant just go and get :) But what about Air Wisconsin? I heard they may hire Canadians. And its not a big deal to get an ATP conversion, just a couple grand. Hey, I just found out, if yall have alot of money around,...

Re: AC Pilots leaving to the US?
I am married to a US citizen and am currently waiting for my green card to be processed (maybe another 5 months). I fly for a Canadian regional and the COVID shutdown/lack of flying last year/uncertainty with airlines is what kickstarted us to try to get me on that side of the border. Anyway, if you...

Re: A Career in Aviation or Law Enforcement?
I had this dilemma as well before i began my flight training. As naive as i was back when, i thought it would be easier to fall back onto policing later on in life if i didnt like airline flying. trying to get a cat 1 medical, go through training and making it to an airline later in life always thre...

I have an email in to TC regarding this exact question as I wrote mine in January of 2020. 3 weeks later I have yet to get a response myself. I am on hold with them as we speak so hopefully I can get a verbal answer there. I'll report on what I find out. fwiw, I received a call from TC and two diff...

Re: IATRA Validity Exemption
That's probably worth the call to TC, or even better an email to get in writing that you are still covered. It would really suck to get your PPC and then not be able to hold the type because of a knowledge requirement. Yep, I have phoned a TC officer in December and they had confirmed that I was st...
