The WestJet Job fair for Harmony employees was in Vancouver at Harmony Flight Operations office last Wednesday (4. April) and Thursday (5. April). There will be another 3 hour session on Thursday (12. April). 3 Westjet recruiters from the Westjet People department were there. The recruiters seemed t...

Boeingboy - Did I say Harmony was making money? We all know why Harmony is shutting down. I asked 3 simple questions. Why don't you enlighten me? Please tell me, how do you know Harmony lost $150 million, you know this for a fact? Nobody here at Harmony knows how much we lost (including me), with ex...

Zoom is for sale. I guess that's were the rumour was coming from as Harmony had a look into it. Heard Westjet had a look at Zoom too and decided not to buy it.

Over 90% of Purolator is owned by Canada Post. Barry's minority stake in Purolator doesn't mean anything. The new contract will either go to the lowest bidder or it will be decided by politicians who will get the contract. Air Canada (which had the contract before) and Cargojet are also very plausib...

53 pilots include all management pilots. Short bus, believe me thats the right number, I work there. Average monthly block is 75-80 hours per pilot. Harmony applied for the China city pairings for years, but approval has been denied by the Canadian Government. The government wants for Harmony to buy...

The Canadian cargo industry is totally different than the US one. The main difference is that most B727 routes are domestic cargo routes (Flightcraft/Morningstar) and operate on an East - West corridor 200 miles wide, parallel to the US border. So most sectors are stop and go while in the US cargo w...

The last AC mainline course was told that in the not so far future AC mainline is planning on hiring exclusively from AC Jazz and not from the street anymore. Maybe thats one of the reasons ALPA and ACPA talk to solve issues like seniority, YOS and so on ......

18 million doesn't buy you a B757 anymore. There is hardly any available for sale or lease at the moment for a reasonable price. Boeing's B757 Cargo conversions with the cargo door plug are close to $40 million for the airplane. All the other proposed conversions for the B757, which is cutting a car...

Ground crew pushed one of our aircraft into a fence when pushing from the gate and damaged the tail, which had to be repaired. That's why the YYZ flights got cancelled. As for the rumours, they are just not true. Fact is that Harmony has been offered in the last couple of months several business pro...

You would think so. Why did WJ then take the time to visit the station manager in Hawaii a couple of months ago and casually mentioned that they will taken over the Hawaii routes and run Harmony out of business by January ????? At least thats the rumour we have been hearing. BTW, Dr. Ho's net worth ...

Doesn't look like China will be happening as Air Canada scooped up most available frequencies to China from the Canadian Government.
I can also confirm RB211's statement where the rumour started.

Rumours you gotta love them. If any of these sources would be properly informed, they would know that we are in the process of adding aircraft to the fleet and introducing a new aircraft type.

No changes at Harmony. ez4u2say is probably referring to the meeting we had this week. The only news is that the latest class of 4 pilots is finishing sim training this week and 2 more will be finishing by the end of this month. Also a new class of FA's started this week. Winter sked is starting soo...

No breach of contract. The contract was not renewed / extended. As far as I know YYC was added as a 3 month test on request from Asian Interline and Code share partners for connecting passengers.

It's true, 2 WJ captains, 1 WJ FO and 1 KFA B727 FO. The CRM courses are part of the college syllabus. Personally I think it's a great idea getting instructed by pilots who actually have airline and jet experience. Heard as well that next college year these guys will do IFR and multi-training at SIFC.
