Re: A read for all negotiating pilots - Even the Meter Reader job, which requires no education makes $70k a year!
$200K for medevac? I'd believe that when I see it; and, if it's Manitoba-based, that's 14 hour rolling duty days, flying your azz off (it's mileage-based, remember..) shitty strips in the middle of the night, poor wx reporting, and probably more than a few days of OT..... 210K last year. Around 700...

Re: Salary Survey 2022
703 medevac 6+years, left seat plus training duties, non management. One week on, one week off.
Haven't done the exact math yet but should do about $210,000 this year.
Includes base rate, mileage, bonus, per diems, and a little overtime but not much. Benefits on top of that yet.

Re: Loose Bose A20 Mic boom
I just replaced my mic boom myself. You have to unscrew the cover plate on the ear cup connector the mic boom is attached to and you’ll find a snap ring holding it on along with the connector that ties it into the whole plug unit that connects to the ear cup. You’ll need a little Philips screwdriver...

Re: Co-incidence?
This place just reeks of inexperience. One of these years they're not going to get so lucky with people walking away. They buy their King Air's in bulk...  Another once good company touched by that EIC charm. There are other medevac captains on the field making 2-3 times more than th...

Re: Grab a seat. The music is stopping
I have to admit i've been feeling pretty low over the last year or so watching all my friends and colleagues move on to their "dream" companies while my behind stayed firmly planted in a left 703 medevac seat. It wasn't a matter of not having the opportunity...it's certainly been there. The choice w...

Re: Manitoba Govt Air Services to be Privatised
So what does that mean? Urgent lifeflight calls in their twin otter? Everything privatized? Weird article. From reading various news articles it sounds as though the work of the two citations is the only thing up from grabs anymore. As far as I gather, all basic stuff will remain as is. Now the que...

Re: Airspray, Buffalo, Conare and Government?
I thought the contract was won by Babcock? Are they sub-contracting it out to Air Spray? Pretty sure Babcock holds the contract but subcontracts the actual flying out to Air Spray. I'm guessing Babcock are not making much themselves off it but I believe they were more so just looking to get a foot ...

Re: King Air at Gillam, MB
Since the mains are always filled first, and the aux are always burned first......possible, you say? When pigs fly. They ran out of gas.....still nobody willing to stand on their hind legs and say it? With a huge Mb medevac contract under decision you can bet EIC will be doing all they can to brush...

Re: King Air at Gillam, MB
Very lucky crew. From the info I’ve been told it’s looking like a fuel issue, and not quality but quantity... How's that possible? Full mains is plenty for Winnipeg to Churchill. Um...perhaps if the mains were not filled?!?! Some of the people who I’ve chatted with said a couple other aircraft hear...

Re: Manitoba Govt Air Services to be Privatised
Through the grapevine, I heard the doctors in the Manitoba medevac program won't fly unless it's a jet.... I can easily see the docs getting dumped by the gov’t. Mb is one of the few places that actually fly with a physician anyway. From some of my friends who’ve done lifeflight contract work, it s...

Re: Manitoba Govt Air Services to be Privatised
Actually, they might not consider those 2 accidents: they happened under the fast air OC. The medevac contract application happened under the vanguard OC. They haven't had any accidents soo far. Well in that case they should be knocked out even quicker because the company needs 5 years experience d...

Re: Manitoba Govt Air Services to be Privatised
So Vanguard Air Care is running around telling everyone they have the RFP Ambulance contract (however it has not been announced). They are making a concerted effort to poach AMS medic staff from other carriers using this statement even though it is not true - real greasy! They even have their rampi...

Re: Manitoba Govt Air Services to be Privatised
Just heard that skycare is 1 of 3 possibles for the medevac RFP. Anyone know who the other 2 are? I can’t possibly see this being true. The Navajos will be a no go according to the RFP requirements. Aircraft need to be twin turbine at very minimum. Could you have heard SkyNorth perhaps? Heard from ...
