IATRA along with a CPL allows you to be right seat of a two crew aircraft, in order to be pic of a 2 crew aircraft you need ATPL. Any aircraft that is single pilot certified you can be pic for day vfr with pax and night vfr or IFR with no pax with just a CPL.

Heads up people wanting to go to confed ! If you couldn’t do solo within 17 hours completed in 6 months you would be kicked out in your end of second semester. Another thing to consider; you can get your group 3 and a multi rating for cheaper than a group 1, and when you get hired to fly a twin otter or king air or any first job multi aircraft you will do a PPC which automatically upgrades your group 3 to a group 1. Bit of a loophole in the system.
