Re: Corona Virus

4. It is not nearly as high a death rate as you are saying...."On Mar. 3, the World Health Organization said the mortality rate for the virus had increased to 3.4 per cent." Guess what WHO.....there are all kinds of people without symptoms or few symptoms who never got tested. The mortality rate is...

Re: Corona Virus

Both 'sides' have valuable points. The fact is that 50-75% of the population will get Covid-19 and, eventually, herd immunity becomes viable. Hunkering down, as we are doing now, is meant ONLY to to spread the rate of infection over time so that the 50-75% who end up of with a serious case of the in...

Re: Unlimited Travel Pass

It is a unique seat sale - that is it. Look at the pricing of all the airlines in Canada currently and prices are low as it is a slow season.

85 hours a month is credit time not flying time. All vacation, sim, training, GS etc has credit attached which leaves lots of room for OT.

Re: Hiring- B737 FO's CYYZ & CYVR/CYXX

YYZ has more flying and, apparently, will grow a lot this spring and summer. Right now there are day turns , YYZ-YVR-YYZ, which are popular, and two day pairing with overnights in YVR and YYC. The long day turns are popular since 8 or 9 of those and you have hit your max hours. The max they can sche...

Re: Hiring- B737 FO's CYYZ & CYVR/CYXX

Min 12 GDO's per month. Pairing are 1 or 2 days long (usually 2 days) with 12 hours total flight time (YVR-YYZ-YVR, YVR-YYC-YYZ, YXX-YEG-YXX-YEG-YXX etc). Most pilots averaging 14-18 days off per month since there are no 'grey days' etc.

Re: Flairs troubles......

If they bought them outright and now plan on retiring the lot this quickly, that’s gonna be a nasty accelerated depreciation hit on the books. If they had planned to switch to NG’s this quickly in the program, they should have maintained the operational and financial flexibility of operating leases...

Re: Flairs troubles......

Lovely reporting with no substance, counter view are researched facts. There is not a judge anywhere that would force a company to continue providing service if it was not paid. The fact that the judge produced an order AND required KF to also pay legal costs is indicative of the fact that they had ...

Have you upgraded any of the guys you hired in the last 6-12 months?
Well, seniority based if the FO has the required time. But at least 4 FO's, who were hired with the required time before even arriving, upgraded last fall out of seniority since they held the time.

It was also designed by a marketing firm and painted overseas. You may not like it, but don't worry yourself about basing comments on facts or anything.

Re: Hiring

We bid for schedules in the traditional way so there is no pattern. YOu are guaranteed 12 days off a month and a max schedule of 85 hours. So if you hit 85 hours in 15-16 days you will have13-15 days off. No grey days etc - they are off days. SO you can request specific days off, specific flight et...

Re: Hiring

It was mentioned that there will be a jumpseat program soon and other airline travel benefits. Flair has an internal travel policy as well so you should be able to commute to work - though it will always be standby. Also, they announced last week that every year the employee and their immediate fami...

Or, given that they did NOT ask for a 30% pay decrease. Instead they want to hire new FA's on a scale that matches, Swoop, Rouge etc. Current FA's keep there wages - wages that were based on a charter company years ago. So in essence this means the FAs are being asked to accept a B-Scale for new hi...
