Re: More WJ layoffs
Clearly trolling to get a reaction. Hopefully there will be some news on mitigation efforts in the coming days / weeks. I think it'll be last minute for sure.

Re: More WJ layoffs
Honestly! It’s almost impossible to keep an AvCanada topic on course... I don’t see it. There are other threads to debate the effects of political platforms on Canadian aviation as well as geo-politics; and while these have macro effects on the industry... Any news on "More WJ layoffs"??? The Globe...

Re: Cessna Pilot Scam
As much as we are all desperate to get back to flying, or start flying as a career, people are just as eager to take advantage of desperation. It's hard to remove emotion and passion from trying to "race" to get your resume in first. Stop, take a breath and ask if it makes sense? You'll thank yourse...

With all this talk of Swoop going on I wonder how many will choose a pink tail over a pink slip? Any word on possible mitigations to reductions?

News of a reduction bid is in the air. Anyone have info of possible layoffs? Will there be bump downs into Encore / Swoop?

Re: More WJ layoffs
I’m tossing around the idea of applying, but first I’d like to know if Flair has Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training, or a similar committee for the pilots? I think all federally regulated companies have certain goals to work toward. Flair would be no different. You think or you know? A link ...

Avmax
Is it just me, or does it seem like Avmax is always advertising for jobs? This usually spells trouble... or... expansion. Anyone know what’s going on? I heard Avmax was somehow tied in with Pivot... Or maybe that was the previous Avmax owners? Is Avmax a Chinese owned company now?

That's a good question for the Flair thread... Any news on when negotiations / meetings will take place for the coming end of the MOA (e...

Re: Morningstar
I'm sure those who's views have actually been changed during this downturn, will continue to apply to the Cargo world even after they get a call back. At that point they will be much more attractive. After all, they still wouldn't wan't the off again on again life of an airline pilot, right? As for...

I don't fully agree with that comment about 705 guys being necessarily more skilled. We have actually had a much harder time training guys coming from 705 operations than guys upgrading from the Caravan or coming from some King Air outfit. I'm not saying 705 pilots are better than the rest. I'm jus...

Re: Morningstar
The problem is that 99.9% of those telling you they would prefer the stable life of a freight dog, will go right back to their old seats as soon as they get recalled. Why is that? If working and wage conditions are similar, why would someone leave if it's stable? Especially after freight has prospe...

That's too bad. I'm sure there are folks that would want the stable life of a freight dog rather than the on again, off again airline job.

Pretty thin on details. Not surprising though with the US moving to required pre-arrival COVID testing starting Jan 26.dhc# wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 8:34 am More cuts just announced by AC
