Re: Nepal ATR 72 Crash.
Looks like flaps 15. What's more interesting is the Flightradar24 archive shows thier altitude skyrocket to 100,000', so I'm guessing there was an ADC issue and they flew it into the stall with unreliable info. If the airplane thought it was at 100000' static pressure, the overspeed would be going o...

Re: North star
Word is they bought 2 ex First Air ATR72s to haul freight out of Thompson, with new ownership they dumped the contract with Calm Air and are trying it out for themselves. Big contract for a company like Calm Air to lose only to be pushed out by an operator with no experience in that realm with a new...

Re: Where did West Wind Aviation thread go???
hmmm.... How do the other stakeholders feel about this? ie Cameco, Areva, Prince Albert Grand Council, Meadow Lake Tribal Council http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/images/smilies/deadhorse.gif Why would they care, am I missing something here? The aircraft are still flying so the mines must be happy. ...

Re: Rough Week
yes and cops are always saying how dangerous their jobs are Dangerous, or stressful to the point of requiring psychiologocal recontstruction? Let's not forget what happened outside Potage La Prairie. Pilots do not have to deal with what they did, ever. Different career, different scenerios, grow up...

To fly or not to fly....
Simple question, where does the line get drawn. Scenerio is that an aircraft has a system failure that is discovered on climbout from a remote site, the problem also occurred 2 days prior and was repaired by company maintenance and the aircraft flew an 8 hour day with no fault before the day of the ...

Re: Moving to Saskatoon
Whoa, the west side is not all bad, but like stated avoid the "alpha-ghetto" which is the lettered avenues (Ave A through dam near Z I think). Dundonald and Hampton Village are ok, and most of Confederation Park and Fairhaven are acceptable (not great, but not terrible) plus these west side neighbor...

Not sure where the info is from that is the third shutdown this year maybe. Which could be considered high however the GE powerplants do have some problems. Good work on behalf of the crew. It's flying, things happen. Third shutdown this year for the Saabs maybe, I was talking about the company's e...

How many MEL deferrals are too many?
If none of the deferred maintenance items are in any way related and do not effect each other system-wise, how many are too many? How many have you flown with in the past at one time? There is no hard number anywhere that I can find but there has to be a cumulative effect with the workload recalling...

Am i the only one thinking that some guy that does not own a car because he piles his money into aircraft aquisition and takes the bus around town has no business owning an airplane? rfcpilot, you sir are a penny-pincher, and by your own admission are a con and struggling to hold on to your dream th...
