Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
Imagine if every RJ pilot currently flying the airplane at Jazz had been hired to fly the airplane at AC. Think about that…because you own it. Eventually the airplanes would almost assuradly have been operated by a regional carrier, but not after first depressing wages and working conditions for a ...

Re: Do the Executives send former ACPA Reps thank you cards
AC Management was always very public with their appreciation of ACPA They thanked ACPA Reps at public events even thanking the Association in company memos They are now dealing with a modern day union and aren't sure what to do "Always" is a pretty strong word. I guess this doesn't count? https://w...

Re: Petition
No update, ALPA is too busy watching the MEC getting recalled at WestJet and losing on every other front in Canada. Time for the junior 1000 at AC to wake up. ALPA will not save you from the inept P4C. Junior 1000? I'd estimate that the bottom half of the list, ie.2100+ people, is better than 90% p...

Re: Petition
Well if you actually talked to line pilots you'd realize that a lot, I'd say an overwhelming majority of those I work with want to see us go to ALPA before we spend another second sitting at the bargaining table with the company. And I fully agree. You are a minority and you can't seem to accept it...

Re: Petition
No I haven’t had any interaction with the new PBS other than getting my December bid.
Sounds like the P4C are good at politics. Hopefully once they are rid of any dissenters they can produce results.

Re: ALPA Petition
The question was asked about the relationship between ALPA (C) and ALPA-I and how Air Canada pilots would function within them. Those constitutional changes are what was agreed to at the time. Yes, the process was put on hold for various reasons (politics, Transat), but there are new representative...

Well that’s your opinion and opinions are like farts - you don’t have to share them. Please stick to facts. Maybe our new P4C MEC can be open and transparent by releasing the last WAWCON results. We were told by the last MEC Chair that the pilot group wanted a new contract BEFORE a discussion about...

Maybe our new P4C MEC can be open and transparent by releasing the last WAWCON results. If you want the employer to have the results of the survey, why don’t you just let the employer conduct the survey? If you have ever served in a representative position or on a bargaining committee, you would un...

Re: AC-JAZZ ALPA merger?
However, a list and/or operational consolidation is not out if the question based on corporate action or consent from the parties (which would likely only flow from a prepackaged solution). So, is this the hidden agenda driving the P4C MEC? Their pals at Jazz get an ALPA forced merged list avoiding...

Re: ALPA Petition
Nice back pedalling attempt. You provided a misleading answer to an honest question. That says a lot. I’m pretty sure you know exactly what happened when the merger was put on hold. There were elections within ALPA and ALPAc and the politics changed to the point that the proposed language was off th...

Re: ALPA Petition
Thanks! Politics aren’t funny though. Most pilots hate that bs. Just get me a good contract. Enough with the band of brothers crap. Good luck getting a solid contract WITHOUT the "band of brothers crap." No Cap. (as the kids say) Sorry the band of brothers expression comes from the CALPA days. It w...

So where is this laid out and explained? https://acpa.ca/Media/ACPA/ACPAUpdates/ec168-Potential-Merger-with-ACPA-Contingent-Amend-to-CBLs-100318.pdf Article XIV, section 5. Article XXII, section 1. That draft wording is outdated in my understanding because “politics” took over the initiative. Polit...

Re: ALPA Petition
I am genuinely curious as to what it is that AC pilots figure ALPA will do for them? Like ACPA, ALPA is run by the pilots. The folks running ACPA could easily run for the LEC, MEC and be voted in and quite frankly do the same stuff. What shallow thinking. Its the structure of ACPA that has been a t...

You’re missing my point. I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with the positions of these UAL pilots. Just noting that all is not well at ALPA either. Re: MEC update
Actually that update is not from ACPA but from United. Looking at the Airline Pilot Central forum it looks like there are very similar issues and views south of the border. The lack of trust is at ALPA, APA and others. ACPA is not alone. Lots of recall campaigns and calls for militant action. There ...

MEC update
MEC Dissenting Opinion We take no offense to other MEC members disagreeing and voting contrary to us. That is the democratic process and dissent is healthy. We approach each vote as they come, by researching, thinking, and debating them. Make no mistake, the leaders of the loud “no” camp are the sam...

What about the senior guy?
I get it, this MOA was designed to help out the junior pilots and acknowledge that they were severely hurt during Covid. I strongly support that. But senior guys have concerns too. Many of us are about to retire and face the uncertainty of how long our fixed pension payments will hold up against inf...

Re: Easiest "No" Vote to Come to this pilot group to date
You mean like when we turned down the TA and got FOS? You never learn. Go back and check our discussions. Your predictions are wrong and your character assessments are wrong too.
You and the p4c are misleading the junior pilots and playing on their emotions.
