C-HRIS, I'll give you my opinion on this......... 1. The hood column is used only for logging time while under the hood with a safety pilot or instructor/training Capt. next to me. The way I look at it is, the Actual column and the Hood column are supposed to add up together in the same flight to so...

Most of the guys I have run into lately seem to work in the Maldives in the winters, as for myself, things are still up in the air as to whether I have anything to keep me busy during the cold season or not.

North Shore is right, N.Manitoba has been good to myself and many other fellow pilots over the years. You'll make some good friends and memories that will last a lifetime.

Interview Question

I'm looking for some common questions people have been asked during an interview (or just a dockside chat!) for smaller bush outfits running 180/185/206/DHC-2 or similar types.

Cheers.

Edo is correct, whoever is telling you that you are overqualified for an instructing position is feeding you some real BS. The absolute MINIMUMS for a float instructor is a Commercial licence and 50 hrs on floats. Having a little more than that 50 hrs should just give you a slight advantage. Good Lu...

Another point to add that mcrit and RSC didn't mention, if you experience a COMM failure in uncontrolled airspace, make sure you continue to transmit your intentions. I can't count the number of times I have had both radios fail, and later been told that I was heard making all the proper calls comin...

The Canadian instructor must have a valid FAA licence in order to teach on an American registered aircraft. If you have that, you may teach the student and the time will count towards a Canadian IFR, not sure about the FAA side though.

Whether you are in the left seat or right seat it does not matter. I log PIC from the right seat on a daily basis...however, if Pilot B is not insured to act as PIC on the aircraft than that answers your question right there. In order to act as PIC, you must have insurance covering you to be in comm...

You are directly putting the person next in line for your position in danger. 1. ...
