Re: Beaver Crash
All these various saftey measures have merit indeed, however in this case as often occurs with Beaver crashes the engine displaces the foot wells and often traps the front pax and pilot. Loss of life is always tragic especially when it is a friend and mentor.

Re: Crash at Brenda Mines on BC Highway 97
So it seems this crash followed the same sequence of events as so many that came before in this area. Moral of the story don't try to walk up a down esculator so to speak get your altitude in the valley before proceeding enroute.

Re: Harbour Air Buying Tofino Air ?
Yes I heard about the Whistler Air deal. I t seems that Harbour Air are in aquisition mode what with West Coast, then WhisterAir, and various Euro ventures etc. Rowdy also may well be a reliable source, however it fits with their modus operendi and it may well they are keeping a lid on it. I do know...

Re: Crash at Brenda Mines on BC Highway 97
Yes Cat driver you are right it takes far to long to publish findings and although this accident does suggest the possibility of flight into rising terrain we cannot and must not draw a conclusion based on partial information. However I felt compelled to remind all pilots of the this incideous scena...

Re: Crash at Brenda Mines on BC Highway 97
A tragic loss and condolences to all concerned. TSB now must do their due dilligence and determine the reason. Although this crash and location has all the ingredients found in rising terrain accidents we must await the TSB findings. However it is an opportunity to revisit this often too frequent sc...

Re: Piper singles we love.
I owned a Cherokee 180 for 14 years and really liked it for its versatility and economics. Fill the chairs, tanks and cargo and good to go. With 1150 useful 300lbs full fuel left 850 payload. worked out to 4 hrs with just under 1 hr reserve at 120+ knots optimum alt.(9.5- 10.0 gals per hr) You can b...

Re: F-35 looking more like white elephant
I still think we can't afford to spend that kinda of money plain and simple lets live with refitted f18s spend some money on the the rest of our military for the much needed updates. Let the americans waste money on the front line aircraft and put the money to work in more appropriate directions. It...

Re: F-35 looking more like white elephant
I,m no expert by any means but common sense needs to prevail here. It seems that what they are lookin to do is,nt makin sense. Its like tryin to drive a Ferrari up to the ski hill or the 7 11 for milk. The F18 was an obvious choice for Canadas needs in the past and could be for the future considerin...

The object is to operate efficiently using appropriate measures to protect the customers, machine, and to make the operator money. Time is money but one can still do the job utilizing downwind l...
