Re: Northern Wilderness Otter in Dryden.
You don't outrun anything and fly to safety in a DHC-3, let alone leave the state or province! Awesome aircraft, I've enjoyed every hour... most in NWO. This aircraft has many awesome capabilities but speed/distance is not one of them. Sometimes the storms in NWO come fast and furious and you're luc...

Re: College of pilots
Hi Gilles, Yes, as an Association I might be persuaded to give the College my blessing - though given it's continued lack of diversity among other significant flaws I would still be unlikely to support the organization until it evolved considerably. As a College I vehemently oppose it and to chose i...

Re: Buffalo Joe temporary shut down?
Talk about off topic! At issue here isn't WHAT Joe is operating, it is HOW he is operating. Joe may be kind of a jerk, however he is a business person who has run that business for an awful long time. It's kind of funny the number of people on here who seem to think they know better how to run his b...

Re: Wasaya caravan missing
Let's hope not. Awitzke's orriginal assertion, to which you responded, was that the DC-3 was flying VFR when everyone else was grounded. Perhaps there is more to the story.

Re: Wasaya caravan missing
"Twin turboprops, flown by experienced crews. 1/2 mile departures are safe and legal. And.....I'm sure they didn't stay under the ceilings . No worries. Illya" Off topic but I'm not letting that one go - particularly in a fatal accident thread! If they were filed VFR and they didn't stay under the ...

Re: VFR in IMC - Kasper Aviation
I wish people in piston-driven single-engine aeroplanes (or any other kind of plane actually) would refrain from conducting pseudo-instrument approaches in controlled or uncontrolled airspace without clearances in instrument meteorological conditions. Fixed that for you. Contrary to popular belief,...

Re: Female aircraft engineer needed for mentoring - know any
Well, aside from the trolling from one individual, I appreciate the discussion from others - male and female alike! This is a small networking event for young girls at a local school so it's not attracting revenue, just opening eyes to possibilities in a comfortable environment where participants ar...

Re: Female aircraft engineer needed for mentoring - know any
Hi Girl17,
We're looking for volunteers that are willing to share their experiences as an AME with young girls at a small mentoring event to inspire participants to explore many cool options available to them.
Thanks,
snoopy

Re: Phone number
I've never personally been in this situation, but I know that if a pilot does something stupid (like swear into a hot-keyed mike), he will be given a phone number to call when on the ground. Is that call mandatory. What would the consequences be if that call was not placed? Whether or not it is man...

Re: OWIE at Deline
It's not what is being operated that should be in question, it is how it is being operated.... You can insist everyone operate shiny new jets if you want, but in the hands of the wrong people, it's just "whipped cream on dogshit" to coin the phrase of an old engineer I lost track of... (Dave if you'...
