Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share

From following this thread it appears both sides of whether or not all Transat Pilots will go to Air Canada are self serving: The majority of those for all Transat Pilots to go to AC are extremely confident it will happen, and those against highly doubtful. Again it’s not everyone but it seems that ...

Re: Is this the end of Sky Regional?

Have any aircraft been returned to the leasing company or sold? That’s usually a good way of knowing since otherwise companies are pretty hush on their plans. Thanks for the good suggestion and I think you answered my question. I did some research and I couldn’t find that any aircraft have been ret...

Is this the end of Sky Regional?

With more express layoffs on the horizon, and Jazz completing a MOU with no layoffs till next fall, could this be the end of Sky Regional?

Congrats! It’s good to see some positive news. However, with news like this all express layoffs have to be sky regional. I would be surprised if there is an airline other than Jazz operating express flights by next October.

Now what percentage of Canadian Pilots are laid off? Has to be higher than half.

Effective Feb 11. I wouldn’t be surprised if more layoffs come following Trudeau’s announcement today.

The layoffs continue. Another 20 in February with nothing new from the MEC or management.

In my case, ~6000 TT, ~2000 jet including ~1000 jet PIC, all on jets around 100,000 lb MTOW and up. Several type ratings incl. Boeing (B73C), etc.

Hope that's helpful - cheers.
Thanks!!

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share

I mentioned this in another post however is it just me or does the merger seems pretty negative for anyone with a future desire to go to Air Canada? An even larger list of recalls to get through before hiring is even considered.
A career outside of Canada looks even more attractive now than before.

Re: Q4 Results

Is it just me or does the merger seem pretty negative: AC will take even longer before they start hiring, low seniority pilots at AC will now have to wait even longer for a recall, and finally one less Airline offering free Jump-seat Benefits.

I would stay stick with it if you enjoy it. If not, it’s a bit of a waist of time, especially when you could be pursuing other things in life you truly enjoy more. P.S. I am ignoring the comment above. The purpose of this thread is not to argue who has it worse between younger and older generations....

About 60% of the pilots are laid off. Any idea how that compares to other companies still operating in Canada?

The cost of rent in Toronto seems like it’s coming ever closer to near the Hong Kong Airport at $3000: Average for 2 bedroom in YYZ is just under $2500/month.

Only providing a response that they will continue to keep the pilots updated. This company is truly cementi...

Why Can’t All Airlines Continue CEWS?

I know I have posted already about this in the Sky Regional Forum, however management at Sky has not provided a clear answer as to why. With Air Canada I could not find anywhere online why they ended the CEWS either? I was therefore looking to see from everyone’s background and industry experience w...

Sky Regional came to the conclusion to terminate the CEWS on July 4th. The current uncertainty with our flight schedule demands, recalls with a set date is not predict...

Termination of CEWS on July 4th?

CEWS Will be terminated on July 4th due to a requirement for ‘additional legislation’. Would this be due to Sky potentially ramping up their operations this summer and not meeting the revenue reduction criteria?

Re: CEWS

Sky Regional, as per an email from Russ Payson, will terminate CEWS on July 4th due to a requirement for ‘additional changes in legislation’. I’m curious if Jazz will be terminating as well at the start of July?
