Re: RAIC application refusal
Ehhh, I don't know people about living in a Muslim country being a red flag, you're probably not getting all of the story YVR push-pull. Sometimes people are embarrassed of what they have done and don't want to talk about it (what exactly got you a minor mischief charge?). I lived in Muslim countrie...

Re: Category 1 with past marijuana use?
Yeah - I realized it was somewhat uncalled for, so I changed it.
But if we're going to lynch anyone who has ever smoked MJ (before or after getting their license), then I think the same should be done for alcohol too - it is just as much of an intoxicant as any other drug.

If we're going along this path, might as well ban those who drink alcohol or have drank alcohol too.

Re: ATPL Form
For what its worth, TC in YVR had no issue that my last IFR ride was in a sim (Level D). The biggest issue they had was that the instrument time is not IFR, rather IMC. I still ended up with a fancy new ATPL sticker!

I picked up one of those stain sticks at Home Hardware, and it works GREAT! I haven't had to use it on yellow pit stains yet (cross my fingers/knock on wood I don't get them), but it is amazing at getting pen marks off the pockets, and the grunge from around the collar.

Re: Misfueling close call
You've never seen a duckbill like this?? The only ones I've seen are ether the duckbills or single points like this The duckbill is the most common jet fuel nozzle other there. Nope, like I said I had to google it to see what the duckbill was all about. Single point I've seen before. I've been in t...

Re: Misfueling close call
I thought Jet A fuel trucks had the 'Hoover' nozzles which prevented piston aircraft from receiving the wrong type of fuel? This aircraft was fuelled from pumps, not a fuel truck, but yes the Jet A pump should have had the larger nozzle. Unfortunately there is one type of turbine plane out ...

Re: ATPL Form
Hey Apollo, Just a heads up, some inspectors at TC will not accept an IFR renewal in a simulator. The regulations very clearly state that the last flight test had to be completed in an airplane. 421.34 (5) Within the 12 months preceding the date of application for the licence, an applicant shall de...

I fly the damn plane. I literally have the lives of people in my hands when I'm at work. I don't need anything but my hands to do what they are trying to prevent. I still have to go through security. It's bullshit. Sorry... Anybody can buy a nice uniform on ebay. In some countries, aircrew passes a...
