Re: Expat Flying
Just want to bust a few myths. Dubai is what you make of it, some love it, some hate it. My family and I like it. It’s safe, modern, and open. Yes, women can wear bikinis on the beach and walk around at 2 AM without worrying about being assaulted. I have plenty of booze in the fridge. I don't have ...

captain upgrade timeline/requirements for new hires
hello everyone,
can someone share what sort of timeline can a new hire with ATPL expect in order to upgrade to the left seat and if there's a matrix that the company uses in order to access eligibility?
thanks you!

Re: Importance of the ability to fly into the US
dont worry about the C1D visa now. You need a job letter from the company before you can get the visa. Some companies require this before hand simply because the people handling this have little to no knowledge about the process all they know is its needed. But some would offer you the job if you ar...

Re: Is Flair hiring agian?
My question is why does Flair advertise 1000TT hiring mins for FO’s when they actually hire at way higher than that If you are an employer and are hiring and the candidates have much more experience than the minimum advertised, wouldn't you rather hire the experience over the minimum? I'm honestly ...

Re: Is Flair hiring agian?
My question is why does Flair advertise 1000TT hiring mins for FO’s when they actually hire at way higher than that We've hired candidates as low as 1000 TT, but they all scored exceptionally high on compass testing and interviewed well. We generally prefer candidates 2500TT+ and time on Q400 or eq...

Re: New hire bids
I mean, they’re hiring 500TT instructors. Not exactly competitive experience to get on a 737 Ryanair and Easyjet are hiring 250TT pilots. It all depends on how good is the training. They (ryanair/norwegian/easyjet etc) hire them into a very specific program, with established criteria, training, men...

Re: All you underpaid airline pilots...
I think the other thing to consider with studying it’s much easier in Canada to gain permanent residency than the US. So many foreign pilots can just as easily study flight training, instruct and complete the process to get their residency here. If the US had the same set up, even with a high educa...
