splits I see now where you are coming from. In the case of airline ops then the T/O alternate still has to be recorded prior to departure on the OFP. Whether that piece of info is sent to NC or not by dispatch when flight plans are filed I am not entirely sure but the fact remains that it is written...

It goes on your flight plan in the remarks section. Why in hell do you want to keep it a secret? Besides, 624.23 a) refers to reduced take-off minima and states that a take-off alternate shall be specified in your IFR flight plan.
