Re: Garmin aera 500 GPS
I am a contract pilot and bought a Aera 500 seven months ago for my operations international as a helicopter pilot and as a nice backup in a jet that I fly. It is a great unit, much easier to use then a 396, which I have used regular in the past. I am unable to advise you on battery life as I have b...

Re: Transport Canada Cat 1 Medical Questions
Hello Critter: I have the same problem of white coat syndrome, my MOT doctor requests I visit the local drug store and take my blood pressure reading for a period of time and then record it so he can see a trend. My blood pressure has always been in the area of 120-125 over 78-85. Every time I visit...

To Definenormal, The rarest of Aviators in this country is the holder of fix wing and Helicopter ATP licenses, The reason is simple, not a great demand and very expensive, but there is a need, I know because I am one of them, have been for 26 year, had 8000hrs on airplanes when I did my Helicopter t...

Re: Citation Sovereign vs G300 vs Falcon 2000 EX EASy
I fly a Sovereign in India, the Sovereign is not the fastest nor the roomiest, but, 1) it is one of the quietest, 2) if you need a aircraft to regular go in and out of 4000 feet runways on hot or high then no other aircraft in its class can compare, a CL 300 and a 2000 will sometimes be able to land...

Re: IFR in the U.S.
A very good reply, with one little correction, the customs form is a 178 form if you are a private aircraft. To get the form just google CBP FORM 178 and go from there. Regards

Station 60
The twin Otters station 60 is the weak link of the aircraft if operating offstrip. During my time at Bradley Air in the 70's we would usually have at least one sometimes two station 60 damaged aircraft by end of season,a aircraft would fly repeated rough terrian T.O. and landings and slowly wrinkle ...

missed approach while doing circling
thankyou all for your informed replies, I enjoyed the discussion, in practice I won't do a circle unless under vfr conditions,at one time I did many moons ago in a far away land called the arctic, but now I just don't see the need.
