Re: Air Saguenay Beaver down north of Bergeronne QC
I think they met that they sent out for rescue 2h after departure?......
Still pretty unbelievable to crash on such a nice day, a such easy flight, not overloaded...
And they say the engine was still turning... Probably still early to tell if there was enough power to sustain flight...

I would say it's a 580 at 99,9%! I've seen those guys quite a few times, and best of my knowledge, all their convairs have the allison turbines on them... huge props on that thing... 1000hp/blade!!! 4000hp/side!!! Awesome planes, too bad they wrecked one....

Re: Question regarding a possible carb icing incident, C150L
you ended up in a situation too lean all of a sudden for your engine... the carburator didn't have enough time to vaporise enough fuel, plus you increased the density of the air at the same time... your engine probably stalled... that's sounds normal to me... happened to me a couple time... Apply po...

Both radios... much safer... it's company procedures for many company in northern ontario and northern Quebec. It helps a lot... Good airmanship... Like you said, it souldn't be long. All we need to know is which runway your t/o, where your going and what altitude... No Fucking "conflicting trafic c...

Re: PIC Under Supervision
When I did it, I called TC and the lady had to do a quick research and came back to me saying that I HAD to log it as Co-pilot. Then, you submit your logbook with the sheet showing the hours as PIC-under-suppervision and they'll do the math. Like someone said, you can put a note in the remarks so it...

Re: IFR alternate
The landing minima definition is what got me confused initially... BUT when you think about it, when we calculate the 600/1 or 800/2 we are using a visibility which comes from the advisory visibility which becomes limiting... Same goes for the PROB. We have to use the avisory visibility as a litimin...

Re: IFR alternate
Thanks Swordfish!
I guess my question was Is the Advisory visibility a minima for flight planning purposes... And the anwser is obviously yes because that's what we are using for the 2SM in the 800/2 rule!
Thanks

Re: IFR alternate
Here's another question, regarding landing minimas for the Prob, does the advisory visibility stands as a minima ? for example, your minima is 300/1SM and the Prob is 400 feet and 3/4SM, would you be able to use it? Does the ops spec or airport visibility(for cases below 1/2SM comes into play to det...

Re: on call vs. on reserve ....definition please
Looks like a pretty grey area to me...
Everything is define for when duty is to start for "on Reserve" and "on Standby" but nothing for "on Call"
Almost look like they did it on purpose when you read the post from A Regulator! (btw good post)

Thanks tca for your references... Interesting tough to see how the companies play with that one minute! Personnaly I don't really care because my company doesn't really call us too often last minute specially for doing long runs... but still, intersting to see the ways around those laws, that some p...

Re: Interpretation of On Call FLT HR Restriction 705 Ops
J31, can you elaborate on that? Now if you follow the “reserve” guidelines then you can fly to 120 hours.
It rings a bell to me that TC has different vues of "reserve day" vs "stby day" vs "on call day"... which is which?
