I have to agree, my course had the same, everywhere from 2500 hours up to the over 10000 mark....with some that had no jet time, to lots of jet PIC.... There did seem to be that common thread of university, college, military, or from Jazz. Not sure what the selection train of thought is, but I do ha...

First off, BCflyer.....my apologies, I didn't intend on not mentioning Confed! I was just giving a couple examples....And I know some from Confederation that got on with AC as well. To the question about non provincially accredited programs, that is something I was wondering as well, if anyone knows...

I am sure you maybe read in previous posts...but since Air Canada started hiring last summer, they specifically state that they require University degree, or a diploma from an aviation school....I haven't seen anywhere if they have a preference of what school, as there are quite a few out there, but...

In agreeance, that first video was unbelievably boring, and overdramatic, and uninformed, even though he didn't think so! Second one I laughed my butt off though! And lets be honest, as much as people love to bash Seneca, I don't think there is anyway he was a Seneca grad, much less a pilot....some ...

I don't know if it is just me....but reading all these posts, makes you realize a couple things about the industry...it is in a bit of a sorry state! First off, what happened! everybody is on such edge, and at each others throats, and we wonder why life has been so tough, we can't even get along wit...

I agree as well, however I found it very annoying, and this has happened a couple times, where I was right overhead, or very near an alternate frequency, called for weather, and FSS replied sternly "you know you can get weather on 126.7 all over ontario!", then directed me there for weather....you c...

Hello, Catdriver, please don't take this the wrong way, as I always respect your posts and what you have to say.....and agree with the points you have made here, however thought I would play devil's advocate for a moment... In that situation you would have to be careful if it is snowing outside....if you put the plane in a hangar to melt the ice, frost or snow off, then pull the warm plane out into falling snow, the snow has a tendency to melt on the wing, then if it is cold, to freeze, creating the problem again. Othe...

I think I just found the answer to my own question....found the passport website, from what I read it seems you just re-apply for a new one, allowing time for processing, and while it is being processed I am assuming you just keep your old passport....if anyone knows anything different, let me know....

Passport question
A question for those who fly overseas, or in countries requiring a passport....What do you do when they come up on expiry? I am assuming you have to turn in your old one while applying for the new one? what do you do in the interim for work? or do they let you hang on to the old one right up until t...

ya, I read that in RAC section too, the wording wasn't quite like that: "pilots who choose to proceed to the instrument procedure fix via a route that is off an airway, air route , or transition are responsible for maintaining the appropriate obstacle clearance, complying......" Which I interpretted...

IFR approach question
Hello....had a question...thought I was clear on this but recently had some confusion thrown in by some conversation with people... Say an aircraft is on approach to Timmins, coming from the south to do an ILS 03, aircraft is cleared for the approach and told to switch over to radio...now the aircra...

Multi turbine PIC vs Over 12500
Just curious on opinions....what is more valuable to log, currently I am logging multi turbine PIC, should I be more concerned with moving into something over 12500? or going SO on a jet....or just happy logging the multi turbine PIC for now?

The specific form I am talking about is the gerneral declaration, inbound and outbound forms... off to the side th...

while I don't want to start a debate on here...I agree, a degree does not make you a better pilot, or for that matter a better person. But it is never a waste and does show a certain level of drive and achievement. As for what cyyz has posted, sure some degree programs are more involved than others,...
