Re: Rise air Ramp to fly

Hi everyone, I’m currently finishing up my Multi-IFR and looking into career paths. I’m considering applying for a Ground Services Attendant role with Snowbird Aviation (Rise Air’s ground handling company) based in Saskatoon. Does anyone know if Rise Air currently offers ramp-to-FO transitions? If ...

I don’t think PICUS is being conducted on the E2. Only the dash.
It’s 100% offered on the E2 as well

Re: Which European airline would you join if Canada joins the European Union?

I'd work for KLM Cityhopper (Is that "KLM", or a partner of KLM?). They fly great planes and go to interesting places. I just flew with them two weeks ago, on the E190... and I wouldn't have to work too hard to get a new type rating. Having to go into LCY in the E2 would be a little spicy, think it...

They can’t. Poor PP. Cant say Trudeau Bad any more and first thing Carney is going to do is cut the Carbon Tax so there goes the slogan stored in his other brain cell. Anything else is the same as the Liberals. Tax and spend. Borrow and spend. Make a bunch of promises and never keep them. Pander to...

Re: How long until layoffs due to Tariffs?

Could’ve had a pipeline to sell our oil to other markets, libs screwed that one up too. Yes, terrible, when it was on the verge of being cancelled, they bought it, finished it, and it now ships oil off the west coast. Listening to you folks, apparently the pipeline that was cancelled by the America...

Trudeau’s Canada? He needs 10 bodyguards just to cross the road… I could go on with a grocery list of other things, but that right there should be more then enough evidence of how fractured he’s made our country. In the same way if you’re an American who voted for trump, f*ck you if you voted for T...

Re: WJ vs AC FO pay

WestJet has the longest narrowbody upgrades in the world. That puts a lot of people off. If you’re in Vancouver you’ll be waiting 15-20 years for a left seat with current projections. While I don’t disagree with the data used to make that projection, it’s such a long timeline that with the volatili...

I also don't see why not this: 1900 FO 1900 CA (possibly optional*) E2 FO E2 CA Another route for sure; but be aware the candidate would sit a number of years as a jet FO (3-5 years based on TT joining Porter) in order to meet the upgrade matrix currently in place. From discussions with trainers on...

Re: It’s Time - Back on track

Clearly, our FOAG or what ever the new name it will be called is looking out for the company and based on the abysmal benchmark looking out for themselves. None of the options given to rename the FOAG document (Flight Ops Admin Guide) and committee (Flight Ops Admin Group) stand out for me. They ne...

Plus several dozen geriatrics are staying on past retirement which doesn’t help with hiring. WestJet controls the operation of that pro...

Porter seems to be a really good place to work. Most of the Porter pilots I bump into enjoy it. The opportunity and hope that comes with an expansion, and a management team that wants to do well and fix operational issues. However, given that they didn't notice the e2 pay cut. Re: FOAG 2025

I can appreciate E2 FOs being disappointed. I think more of them planned on trying to make a career at porter than most people give them credit for. But considering how comparable this pay scale looks like vs the 220 at AC, where they'd get seniority quickly as the 220 pilots start upgrading onto a...

Everything from saying FO’s considering AC are simply chasing metal, to not understanding parts of the language in the agreement they’re being asked about, I think these town halls have really exposed how broken this FOAG process has become, not to mention of how low priority pilots are in the eyes ...

Re: So how actually is at the other side of the fence?

Sounds like a lot of Porter E2 FO’s are thinking about sending in an application. Be interesting to see if AC set themselves up perfectly with more pilots lining up for the low end junior pay. There is no reasonable amount of money that Porter could have paid their FOs that would have prevented an ...

Re: Did Air Canada pilots really take concessions in this negotiating climate?

Exactly. The MEC chair has 2 major accomplishments: merging ACPA into ALPA and securing a CA, that, admittedly is not perfect, but is a 41% increase above the last CA. For that, this clown insults her "charisma". Who cares about charisma. This MEC Chair negotiated a subpar contract and joined ALPA ...

Re: FOAG 2025

He’s not, year 2 FO e2 goes from 100$ to 101$. Arguably your MMG went up by 2.5 hours. So that’s two and a half dollars a month. That's $327.50 per month, but who's counting? If you hold a line you’re getting blocked at about 85 hours each month. In an earlier pilot call the company has also said i...

Re: FOAG 2025

The aggregate raise from FOAG 15 with the 1.5% CPI to FOAG 16 for the E2 FOs through 5 years is 1.1%. That is a kick in the teeth to a group of pilots who are actively considering the option to go to Air Canada. Year 2 E2 FOs in particular are taking a 50c per credit cut, where a majority of the E2...
