Re: New Application Site (Maybe for DaveP)

I used to show my CV/Resume/Application updates by putting the date of an update on top of the previous update. Any updates to date?

17 June 2009
10 May 2009
5 April 2009
etc

Not sure if there is a place to put this in on the new site.

Good Luck its a great place to be!

The bears are around Churchill from the time the bay is starts to open until it is frozen enough for them to go hunt seals (May long weekend until mid-novemeber) The mama bears will travel inland to have their cubs and the papas basically fast as there is not much for them to eat until they get back...

:? A little over 800 questions in 4 tests, they would like you to finish in1.5 hours. Not to get you "psyched out" or anything. Just be honest and pick the first answer that comes to mind. If you over-analyze the questions you will set yourself up for a PFO. Good luck!

Actually, I have seen a float pilot from green airways land a float plane on snow packed gravel in Selkirk to have the floats changed over to wheels for the winter. Not done all the time but I also have an old book on how to fly floats which mentions wet grass can be used for take-off and landing.

Instruction versus clearance

I was flying out of YWG the other day and the deprature controller gave me a heading to fly which I acknowledged by using my call sign, He then comes back to me and says I need a "read back" on that heading. Being the nice gut I am I "read back" the heading and continued to proceed on my merry way. ...

I used to fly floats off the Red River in Manitoba, anybody who leaves their plane in for more than a day will know of the brown scum that sticks to the floats, we used curling broom (brush) and scrubbed the floats daily. If you do this you have much work to do when you pull the plane out at the end...

I would agree with skipping the ifr for now as most assuredly it will lapse before you get to use it (for real). Anyone have satellite internet, what does it cost per month. I called one place and the initial fee was $1G plus $60 a month. This was for 2 way hi-speed.

Any help appreciated.
