Re: Getting my PPL in Ottawa

I too did my flight training in Toronto, but when I was first starting out I was in Ottawa and did my PPL ground school at OAS before moving. If was a great school with friendly staff. I cant say anything about the flight training because I haven`t done any with them but my experience there was great.

Re: canadian flight dispatcher exams

IMO, you would need more study than you would for the PPL or CPL exams. Especially for FDMET. As it was posted above, know the ACWM cover to cover for the theory. Also you can get the ACWM work book that will help. But for charts and validity times you will need FGU and or AIM. FDOPS I found if you ...

Re: TC dispatch exams

Along with the study reference guide on the TC website, I used From the Ground Up, AIM, and Air Command Weather Manual. There are some practice tests that you can get from Aviation World. I found them quite usefull. Theres also a Text and Workbook by . out there but I didnt find much help from it. I...

Oh I get it, your implying that I have Syphilis. Geeee you are so funny. Maybe one day when you grow up you could be a comedian. But for now go run along and play in your sandbox. Us adults have more important things to talk about.

Re: The Flight Test Pressure mounts.

If your instructor didnt think you were ready to do the test, they wouldn't have recommended you for it. You'll do fine. From my previous flight tests, I found that the examiner is not there to see that you can read out procedures word for word from the book. They just want to see that you know how ...

If you use the Aerocourse workbook without taking the actual course, it doesnt give you the references to text books in the workbook. However, if you go to the aerocourse website, there is a link to the references to each question. But I would still recomend you take the course. It gets you ready to...

Having the commercial ground school backround will give you a head start on the FDOPS but quite a bit of the info can be found in the AIM.

Good luck

Re: TC Dispatch Exams

Some company's have what they call dispatchers but are really just operations center workers who do flight following. Usually they are self dispatched so its up to the PIC to do the flight planning and dispatch the a/c. Other companies that dont want to have an actual dispatch department but still r...

Another option for you, Is to buy a co-ownership on a plane that someone already owns. Owning the aircraft by yourself, you will have to take care of the registration, insurance, maintenance, all of that on your own. If you can find someone with a plane that wants to sell a share of it, it may cost ...

Re: TC Dispatch Exams

The commercial ground school is not enough for the FDOPS exams. But it is a good start. If your already into the air command, I would sugest studying up for the Met exam and write that before you start into the FDOPS exam. just get it out of the way then you wont have to be studying so many subjects...

Another question about logging time

It may sound like a dumb question, so bare with me.

Two private pilots take off in a 172 float plane. Only one pilot has a float endorsment. Can the pilot who does not have the endorsment log PIC time enroute while the other only logs the time for take off and landing?

correct me if im wrong. the PTR is what you send in to TC with your application for the license and the signatures from the trip legs would be in you personal log book. I think the signatures are just there for you to show the examiner who signs your papers before they are sent in. Just a thot
